Wimbledon betting tips: Get with Jannik Sinner and ‘Boom-Boom-Elena’ to claim Wimbledon glory

Sports News Blitz’s Bookie Basher is running hot just in time for Wimbledon with the knockabout dandy of sports wagering napping 9/1 and 100/30 winners on grass last week.

Read on for a breakdown of who wins Wimbledon 2025 from SNB’s generational wordsmith.

Alcaraz the showman leads the pack

Iconic grass courts? Strawberries and cream? Exorbitantly priced champagne? It can only mean one thing. Wimbledon 2025 is finally here, and this year's men's singles event looks fascinating.

The consensus view of the bookies is that Carlos Alcaraz is the man to beat, and it’s easy to make a case for the five-time Grand Slam champion.

The Spaniard is sometimes referred to as having “supernatural” ability due to the fact that he can do things on a tennis court that seem impossible to mere mortals.

His incredible athleticism and shot-making are a joy to watch when he is running hot.

The swashbuckling style that blends power and finesse, coupled with that infectious smile, mean the Iberian is pure box-office and after winning his prep tournament at Queen’s, he looks worthy of the favourite tag this year.

Sinner on a mission

However, don’t sleep on Jannik Sinner. The Italian is the current World No 1 and a player who has won 19 singles titles on the ATP Tour, including three majors.

Sinner had three match points in the seminal French Open final against Alcaraz just a few weeks ago and will be desperate for revenge at SW19.

The rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz has added spice due to their vastly contrasting playing styles and personalities.

Icy cool vs fire and flair

Alcaraz may not be as volatile as John McEnroe, but he wears his heart on his sleeve on the court and loves to get the crowd involved.

Sinner, meanwhile, looks ice cold during matches. Zero interactions with the public.

It feels like he's an unstoppable cyborg at times and he always strikes me as looking like the guy in a zombie movie who's been bitten but is trying to keep it a secret from everyone.

He has never won Wimbledon, but odds of 2/1 this year do look a tempter.

He will begin his tournament against fellow countryman Luca Nardi before a potential second-round match-up with Aleksandar Vukic.

It would be a shock if he didn’t win both of those matches in straight sets and from there, American Tommy Paul and Italian compatriot Lorenzo Musetti could await in round four and the quarterfinals respectively.

If he makes the semis then his most likely opponent would be Novak Djokovic or Jack Draper.

British hope Draper can’t meet Sinner or Alcaraz until the semis, and he will have his backers at 20/1. Djokovic is a 13/2 poke and cannot be ignored.

Novak’s time running out?

With his seven Wimbledon titles, the Serb is rightly regarded as one of the greatest players on grass courts in history.

However, it was CS Lewis who said, "One of the most cowardly things ordinary people do is shut their eyes to facts," and we cannot ignore the fact that Djokovic - age 38 - has not won any of the tennis majors since triumphing at the US Open in September 2023 (with young guns Sinner and Alcaraz splitting the six Grand Slam titles in that time).

Novak’s all-court brilliance has yielded to head-shaking confusion at times in recent years, and with us safe in the knowledge that Father Time is undefeated, we will swerve Djokovic in favour of Sinner winning a maiden title at SW19.

Sabalenka favoured - But can she finish?

Once again, the women’s event looks wide open, and remarkably, there have been eight different women's singles champions at the past eight editions of Wimbledon, with betting rag Barbora Krejcikova a shock winner 12 months ago.

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka arrives as the betting jolly this year, but I am still scarred by the way she imploded in that French Open final against Coco Gauff just a few short weeks ago.

Sabalenka is ridiculously consistent, having reached 11 consecutive Grand Slam quarter-finals - but having lost in the past two major finals at the Australian Open and Roland Garros, one wonders whether she has the mental fortitude to take this down?

Gauff will be full of confidence having toughed it out to win the French Open, but has yet to go beyond Round Four here and her scrambling game is less suited to this ultra quick terrain.

Not so Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion who looks worth a punt at 13/2.

‘Boom-Boom-Elena’ has not really kicked on since that 2022 success with injuries, illness and a messy departure from long-time coach Stefano Vukov all contributing factors.

However, her game is perfectly suited to grass, with a massive serve and flat forehand sure to do some damage in the next fortnight.

Rybakina is an aggressive baseliner who likes to hit the ball incredibly hard. The sounds coming off her racket when she is dialled are quite terrifying, and 13/2 looks big.

Vondrousova: The value outsider

In terms of an outsider in the women’s draw, Marketa Vondrousova looks tasty at 16/1.

She made history here in 2023, becoming the first unseeded player to win the women's singles.

The Czech has had a rotten time of it due to injury since, bur rocked up in Berlin a few weeks ago and walked off with the title, winning five matches in six days and seeing off Sabalenka 6-2 6-4 in a one-sided semi en route.

She suddenly looks dynamite again after shoulder surgery, and ticks plenty of boxes as an each-way play at 16s.

Suggested Bet #1: Jannik Sinner to win Wimbledon at 2/1 (Bet Victor / Boylesports)

Suggested Bet #2: Elena Rybakina to win Wimbledon at 13/2 (Bet Victor / Coral / Ladbrokes)

Suggested Bet #3: Marketa Vondrousova (each-way) to win Wimbledon at 16/1 (Bet Victor / Hills / Skybet)
