Premier League betting tips: Richarlison to score, Bournemouth to beat Man Utd, and more Gameweek 31 tips
Did my stones at Cheltenham last week, and to be fair, the Premier League has been something of a graveyard for favourite backers these past few weeks too.
Despite this, my love affair with punting is still fervent. Seriously, though, how do the bookies just know? Denise at bet365 could superboost over 2.5 tweed jackets at Cheltenham, and people would simply start cutting about the legendary Cotswold venue in a vest, shorts and trainers.
Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from this weekend’s Premier League TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including the tasty Tyne-Wear derby between Newcastle and Sunderland on Sunday, March 22.
Bournemouth vs Manchester United
Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games against Manchester United. The Cherries are also unbeaten in their last 10 Premier League matches generally.
The Red Devils have a realistic crack at finishing in the Champions League spots this season, but this won’t be a cakewalk against a Bournemouth side who are buzzing under Andoni Iraola.
The Cherries, plucky, coastal, faintly apologetic, look a right price at 11/5 for while Michael Carrick is getting a tune out of this Manchester United side they have also rode their luck at times in recent weeks.
Suggested bet: Bournemouth to win at 11/5 (bet365)
Brighton vs Liverpool
The Reds have played Brighton twice already this season and have a 100% record. Two games, two wins. Bosh.
However, any side that cannot beat Spurs right now just cannot be trusted, and 6/5 quotes about the away win look plenty short.
Slow starts have been a story of Liverpool’s season - particularly away from Anfield - and tellingly of the 22 away league goals they have plundered in the 2025/26 campaign only three have come in the first half.
It’s 29/20 that these two are level at the break at the American Express Stadium, and I genuinely like them apples.
Suggested bet: Half-time result - draw at 29/20 (Hills)

Everton vs Chelsea
Chelsea were absolutely battered by PSG and it’s difficult to fancy them at Everton.
The Toffees are hard to beat - losing only three of their last 11 matches - and backing them in the ‘Double Chance’ market (essentially laying Chelsea to win) at 4/5 feels safer than a well-tucked-in vest.
Suggested bet: Everton / Draw (Double Chance) at 4/5 (Hills)
Leeds United vs Brentford
Leeds have won only one of their last eight league games, and Daniel Farke’s men have now failed to score in their last three Premier League matches.
The Bees have won six of their 15 away matches in the top-flight and look a right price here at 9/5.
Still not convinced? Brentford have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League games against newly promoted opponents. Peeeeoooowwwwwn.
Suggested bet: Brentford to win at 9/5 (bet365)
Newcastle United vs Sunderland
Sunday’s lunchtime Tyne-Wear derby is bound to be feisty. Form often goes out the window in this type of game, of course. And then the window then gets smashed in by men emboldened by Brown Ale.
Seriously though, Sunderland have well and truly dropped off. The Black Cats have scored only four goals in their last eight matches.
Put simply, Newcastle are surely getting their eternal rivals at the right time, despite that 7-2 shellacking in Barcelona on Wednesday.
Regis Le Bris has been brilliant for Sunderland, but it’s just four wins in their last 17 games, and the Mackems don’t look like they have the firepower to trouble the Toon.
Suggested bet: Newcastle United to win to nil at 9/5 (Hills)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Nottingham Forest
Tottenham are a mere point above the Premier League relegation zone in 16th with eight matches of the season left to play after a painful campaign.
Put simply, a club that has seen so much recent drama it now qualifies as a minor Shakespeare character needs a result.
Just a point separates these two, and the Tricky Trees won’t be intimidated here, having won their last three against the men from north London.
Lack of goals must be a concern for Nottingham Forest fans, and my hunch is Richarlison could be the difference on Sunday. The big Brazilian is 11/2 to score first, and that must be worth a bet?
Granted, Richarlison is the very definition of erratic. Flat one week, capable of brilliance the next, like a man who can suddenly juggle ferrets.
But with a World Cup happening this summer, he will be desperate to finish the season well and catch the eye of the Seleção selectors.
Suggested bet: Richarlison to score first at 11/2 (bet365 / skybet)
