NFL betting tips: New England Patriots to get the better of the Seattle Seahawks after some early Drake Maye blunders

It’s finally that time of year again, folks. Super Bowl LX is here, and I couldn’t be more ready.

For those of us in the UK, get your coffee brewing and your beer runs in early; we are in for yet another late night of footballing frenzy.

The Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots are preparing for a dog-fight in California; both teams are defensively astute; this will be a war of will on Sunday.

Last time these two shared football’s biggest stage, it was the Patriots who came out on top, clinching a 28-24 victory to claim their fourth Lombardi trophy in 2014.

They are now looking for number seven.

Meanwhile, the Seattle Seahawks hope to avenge their previous Super Bowl blow, and add to their 2014 masterclass over the Los Angeles Rams.

Here, Sports News Blitz’s Sam Condy breaks down the match-up, revealing his favourite bets and predicted winner ahead of Super Bowl LX.

Drake Maye two or more interceptions

There's no questioning Drake Maye’s talent. The starlet has proven himself to be one of the NFL’s top QBs.

However, he is still young, inexperienced, and has never played a game close to this magnitude.

He has the opportunity to reinstate the Patriots as an NFL dynasty, though the resulting pressure is immense.

The Seahawks have one of the best defences in the league, racking up 18 interceptions throughout the regular season (fifth overall).

While Maye isn’t one to hand over the ball easily - giving away just eight this season - it may take him a quarter or two to adjust to the Super Bowl atmosphere.

The Seahawks will rely on their defence to win the game; mistakes from the youngster will be inevitable.

Best odds: 3/1 with Sky Bet

Kenneth Walker III under 71.5 rushing yards

Staying on the topic of defence, we now swing the spotlight over to the Patriots.

Their run defence is arguably the sport's best, and, with Milton Williams now back, it is at full strength.

Kenneth Walker will have a large task ahead of him, only amplified by the absence of Zach Charbonet.

He is excellent, but not unstoppable. I have a feeling Seattle will lean into his receiving capabilities rather than rely on him to get the business done against the Patriots’ defensive fortress.

Best odds: 6/5 with William Hill

Patriots to summit the footballing pyramid once again

This may be an unpopular opinion in the betting world, but I reckon the Patriots will nick it.

Undoubtedly, I have it close, unlike many of the punters I’ve seen predicting a Seattle Landslide, they seem to forget that we are about to watch two of the league's best defences go to war.

This will be a battle of scarcity, not abundance.

New England has only been getting more solid as the season has edged towards its conclusion. They are peaking at the perfect time - this is a franchise that knows how to win; a big game team.

While Maye may struggle at first, he is very much in the MVP race, and I'm confident his quality will shine when it matters.

This will be a game of moments, and the Patriots have the quality to capitalise on any Seattle hiccups, while their iron defence can hold on while Maye finds his feet.

Best odds: 21/10 with AK Bets

Final Prediction: New England Patriots 27 - 24 Seattle Seahawks
