Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua analysis: Venue, tickets, start time, Netflix and a reported 2am start time

For years now, the much-anticipated Anthony Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua bout has been British boxing’s dream fight.

A decade in the making, the two heavyweights are ready to throw it down in Cardiff on December 11, 2026, writes Sports News Blitz’s Max Steel.

Where is the fight being held?

The fight will take place at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, one of the UK's most iconic sporting venues.

With a capacity of around 74,000 and a retractable roof, the stadium provides a unique atmosphere for a heavyweight showdown of this magnitude.

The decision ensures the long-awaited all-British clash remains on home soil, something which at one point looked unlikely with both camps locked in disagreement for a while.

What time will the fight start?

While nothing is confirmed at this stage, Cardiff’s Principality Stadium seems to have been picked for its late curfew compared with Wembley, with AJ and Fury expected to box around 2am local time to accommodate American viewers.

The Principality hosted Joe Calzaghe for his world title clash with Mikkel Kessler in  2007, which also started at 2am to accommodate those across the pond.

How can I buy tickets for the fight?

Tickets are expected to be in huge demand, with fans keen to witness two of British boxing’s biggest names finally meet in the ring.

General sale is scheduled for 12pm on Friday, October 9, and tickets will be available through Ticketmaster UK.

Official face-value ticket prices have not yet been confirmed, so fans should be wary of unofficial resale prices currently being advertised online.

Hospitality and premium packages are also available to register interest through the Principality Stadium, while secondary-market listings have already been advertised for hundreds or even thousands of pounds.

Who is on the undercard?

The fights on the undercard of this heavyweight clash have not yet been confirmed;  however, rumours are circulating that there could be an American influence.

The fight being talked about could be a huge all-American super-fight between Richardson  Hitchins and Keyshawn Davis.

Hitchins and Davis are two of the most promising US talents right now, and the undefeated pair could provide a huge undercard.

How can I watch Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua?

Fans unable to attend the bout will be able to tune in at home, not on Sky Sports or DAZN, but on Netflix.

The fight will stream live globally on the platform, so subscribers will not need to buy extra pay-per-view packages.

Does Netflix add a complicating layer to the fight for fans around the UK?

Like Anthony Joshua said in the press conference, “People in pubs have had proper fights about who is going to win...Before anyone knew us internationally, it was people from this country that supported us.”

But this fight being on Netflix could add an interesting complication for British fans wanting to watch Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua in the company of their dearest in the pub.

Unlike traditional boxing pay-per-view events, the fight will be streamed live on Netflix.

Netflix’s terms and conditions say standard accounts are for personal, non-commercial use, which creates a major headache for pubs across the country.

Netflix has previously partnered with Sky Business to provide commercial rights for its boxing events, allowing licensed pubs and bars to show the action through a dedicated business service.

Whether the same arrangement will be available for Joshua vs Fury will be a key question as fight night approaches.

Can pubs stay open for the reported 2am ring walks?

The reported 2am UK start time for Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua could create an unusual problem for British pubs.

While no nationwide rules force pubs to close at midnight, individual venues are restricted by their licence hours and conditions.

This means pubs could stay open for the fight if their licence allows, and they can also apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) to stay open for the fight.

This is something many pubs did during this year's FIFA World Cup in order to stay open and serve alcohol for England’s game against Mexico.

Applications normally need to be submitted at least 10 clear working days before the event, although late applications are possible in certain circumstances.

The application costs £21, but venues are limited in how many TENs they can use, and police or environmental health can object.

Tyson Fury’s manager, Spencer Brown, has argued that the proposed 2am start time is too late for British fans to watch the fight in pubs and clubs.

Ultimately, Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua promises to be one of the biggest nights in  British boxing history.

Still, the way fans experience it could differ greatly from the traditional heavyweight showdowns of the past.

With Netflix bringing the fight directly into homes worldwide, and the reported 2am ring walks making pub viewing harder, the biggest question may not be whether fans will watch - but where.

For a fight that has been a decade in the making and has captured the imagination of  British boxing fans for years, will supporters watch alongside thousands of others in a packed pub, or will they sit at home with Netflix on the television?

Either way, the wait should end on December 11, 2026.
