Sports News Blitz-sponsored Horsforth Hawks too hot to handle for Spen Valley Vixens

The Horsforth Hawks Reds continued their flying start to the 2026 rounders season in division four of the West Yorkshire League, making it three wins from three on Wednesday night.

After securing an opening win by default after their opponents forfeited the match, the Hawks Reds have since collected back-to-wins with dominant displays.

On Wednesday, June 3, the Hawks Reds - who are sponsored by Sports News Blitz - travelled away to Spen Valley, and put on a powerful performance with both bat and ball, racking up 24.5 rounders compared to the Vixens’ five.

Horsforth Hawks Reds beat Spen Valley Vixens C 24.5 – 5 in a dominant display from start to finish 💪

The Hawks were incredible in the field - Steph R took a hat-trick of catches including a spectacular dive, while Liz pulled off a soaring star jump catch to match. 

Han held firm on the bases with great backing up from Wasan, and big throws in from Rhiannon, Amy and Sam from deep kept the pressure on throughout. 

Liz’s bowling kept the Vixens’ scoring well under control.

With the bat, the whole team came alive - huge hits all over the place, with Liz leading on 5.5, Steph R on 5, and Rhiannon and Beth K both on 3.5. 

Special mention to Laura, who scored her first half rounder of the league, Kirsty for her sneaky running, and Liv whose directional batting earned her a full rounder! 🌟
