Rugby league betting tips: Predictions and suggested bets for the Challenge Cup semi-finals
It’s semi-final week where league high-flyers St Helens host local rivals Wigan Warriors and Warrington take on Hull KR.
With the four best left in the competition we are in for an interesting weekend of rugby league, who will advance to the final at Wembley and who will crash out in the semi finals.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Elliot Ward takes a look at upcoming fixtures, highlighting the best betting angles and offering some choice tips.
St Helens vs Wigan Warriors
St Helens have been excellent this season sitting second in the league only on points difference behind leaders Leeds Rhinos.
Last time out St Helens beat York 40-14 in a dominant affair, continuing their great form which is huge coming into a massive game like this.
In the quarter finals St Helens put on a fantastic display against French side Catalans winning 36-4 to book their semi final place.
Wigan have been slightly underwhelming this season with surprising losses against poorer sides which means they sit in 5th place.
Wigan beat Bradford bulls last week 38-14 getting back to winning ways after a tough month in April.
In the quarter finals Wigan edged out a good Wakefield Trinity side 26-22 away from home.
With both teams winning last week confidence will be high, however St Helens have beaten Wigan already this season which gives them the edge.
Suggested bet: Half-time/Full-time result in the way of St Helens at 13/5 (Bet365)

Warrington Wolves vs Hull KR
Warrington have been very good this season and started well which seems like a formality in recent years, they sit 3rd in the table two points behind Leeds Rhinos with a game in hand.
Warrington beat Huddersfield giants 34-4 last weekend, a convincing display puts them in good stead ahead of their semi final fixture.
In the quarter finals Warrington beat playoff chasing side Leigh Leopards 24-10 to advance to this stage with a very professional performance.
Hull KR have dropped off a little bit this season compared to last season's accomplishments and they sit in 4th place four points behind Leeds Rhinos.
Last week Hull KR beat Castleford Tigers last time out 50-6 in a thrashing against a poor Tigers side however this result will surely give them confidence ahead of this weekend's fixture.
In the quarter finals Hull KR defeated York 48-10, a very good display similar to Warrington they will feel confident this weekend, a really tough game to predict.
Suggested bet: Hull KR winning margin of 15+ at 19/10 (Betway)
My final prediction will be a St Helens vs Hull KR final at Wembley which will take place on Saturday, May 30.
