Rugby league betting tips: Predictions and suggested bets for Super League Round 10
Leeds Rhinos vs Wakefield Trinity are top of the billing this week as they fight it out at the top of the league, with St Helens hosting York Knights, and much more.
With Wakefield losing to St Helens and Wigan losing to Warrington, this shows the quality at the top of the league with Rhinos leading the way. A gap is starting to form.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Elliot Ward takes a look at upcoming fixtures, highlighting the best betting angles and offering some choice tips.
Hull KR vs Castleford Tigers
Hull KR beat Bradford away from home 48-12, in a coming of age performance showing their quality finally pushing into the top five this season.
Castleford lost again at home to Hull FC, KR’s bitter rivals 50-10 and I don’t see them doing any better this week.
Suggested bet: Tyrone May anytime try scorer at 9/4 (Betfred)
Leeds Rhinos vs Wakefield Trinity
Leeds Rhinos won again last week at home against Catalans in terrific style beating them 46-4, the consistency is showing through as they look like favourites to win the league leaders shield.
Wakefield Trinity lost away at St Helens in a close game ending in 18-12 to the home side.
This is definitely the game of the weekend and if Wakefield turn up and play at their best they could win this one, however, Rhinos will have too much in the locker in my opinion.
Suggested bet: Brodie Croft anytime try scorer at 13/8 (SpreadEX)
St Helens vs York Knights
St Helens defeated Wakefield Trinity last week, a huge result at the top of the table pushing them up to level on points with Leeds Rhinos in first place.
York Knights beat a poor Toulouse side 38-14 at the LNER Stadium, however, this doesn’t reflect how good York were - it shows how poor Toulouse are.
Suggested bet: first try scorer Tristan Sailor at 11/1 (SpreadEX)
Wigan Warriors vs Bradford Bulls
Wigan lost again last week, this time at the hands of Warrington Wolves 23-6, another disappointing result for the Warriors.
Bradford lost as well to in-form Hull KR 48-12 and I predict that will carry over to this week as they will lose to Wigan Warriors.
Suggested bet: Wigan Warriors winning margin of +15 at 2/9 (Ladbrokes)
Catalans Dragons vs Leigh Leopards
Catalans lost heavily to Leeds Rhinos last week and continue their campaign placed just outside the playoffs which seems to be a theme in the last few years.
Leigh are back to near their best with another win last week 30-16 at home to Huddersfield Giants, lifting them up the table into 9th - two points behind Catalans.
Suggested bet: Leigh Leopards to win at 6/4 (Skybet)
Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves
Huddersfield Giants lost to Leigh last week, most importantly Huddersfield don’t look very good at all, quite hopeless in most games this season.
On the other hand, Warrington have been very good and are two points behind league leaders Leeds Rhinos with a game in hand.
I think this game could be a whitewash going in the favour of Warrington.
Suggested bet: Half-time/Full-time result - Warrington Wolves at 8/11 (Quinnbet)
Hull FC vs Toulouse Olympique
Hull FC have picked up some decent form recently propelling them to 8th in the league, last week, hammering Castleford Tigers 50-10 away from home.
Whereas, Toulouse have been pretty hopeless all season with their two wins coming in their first two games and have not won since.
I predict Toulouse will lose.
Suggested bet: Hull FC half-time/Full-time result at 3/10 (Bet365)
