Premier League outright betting preview 2025/26: Liverpool favourites to edge Arsenal, Man City

Welcome to Sports News Blitz’s Premier League outright betting preview for 2025/26, where, for once, Man City are not the betting favourites.

That honour goes to Arne Slot’s Liverpool, who are priced at +165 (13/8) with FanDuel. Arsenal are hot on their tails at +220 (11/5), with Pep Guardiola’s side third in the market at +290 (19/10).

Liverpool’s attacking reshuffle, a midfield rebuild at the Etihad, and Arsenal finally bowing to peer pressure and signing a striker make this title race fascinating.

It makes sense to back the favourites, yet you can’t rule out Chelsea as an outside bet to win the Premier League at +900 (9/1), especially after landing Liam Delap and João Pedro.

In this guide, Sports News Blitz’s George Dempsey will break down the latest outright odds, flag the best value, and share our betting tips for the season ahead. American odds are shown throughout, with UK equivalents included where helpful.

Who are the betting favourites to win the Premier League in 2025/26?

Liverpool are the early favourites to win the 2025/26 Premier League, priced at +165 (13/8) with FanDuel.

Slot’s side finished 10 points clear of the chasing pack last time out and rattled in 86 goals, 17 more than their nearest challenger, Arsenal.

They were able to ease off by mid-April and still coast to the title, which says a lot about both their quality and the shortcomings of those chasing them.

This summer, they’ve gone big and splashed the cash. Florian Wirtz adds vision and flair, Jeremie Frimpong is a powerful runner overlapping in wide areas, and Hugo Ekitike offers something different up top.

The backline still needs some shoring up, and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid leaves a creative void that Wirtz has to fill.

Add in the potential arrival of Alexander Isak, and it’s easy to see why Liverpool are the outright betting favourites for the Premier League in 2025/26.

They’ve got the depth, the momentum, and a manager who’s compounded the bond between the fans and the club, resulting in a rocking Anfield that proved a fortress last season.

Will Arsenal win the Premier League in 2025/26?

Arsenal ran Liverpool close last time and are second favourites at +220 (11/5). On paper, they’ve had the best window and could conceivably win the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta finally has a proper No. 9 in Viktor Gyökeres, who arrives after scoring 97 goals in 102 games for Sporting Lisbon. He’s untested at this level, but it’s an upgrade on Kai Havertz or wasting Mikel Merino’s midfield pedigree.

Martín Zubimendi brings control to the midfield, Christian Nørgaard adds bite and depth, and Noni Madueke offers better cover out wide.

Not only is there more depth to Arteta’s pack of cards, but it feels like there are fewer excuses not to play an ace or two.

They were the best side by xG last season and lost just four games, but 14 draws told the story. That’s the gap they need to close.

For starters, Martin Ødegaard needs to rediscover his forgotten best and Bukayo Saka needs to stay fit.

Above all, Arteta has to prove his worth. This will be his third crack of the whip and that on the back of Arsenal’s biggest spend yet.

Are Man City still Premier League title contenders?

Pep Guardiola’s City are third in the Premier League outright betting market at +290 (19/10), which tells you bookmakers think they’ll find it hard to win the Premier League.

It’s a rarity that City aren’t favourites to win the league, and after a decade of domination, it signals a welcome shift towards a more open title race.

Last year was their worst title defence since 2017. They dropped 25 points, had the leakiest defence in the Champions League spots, and were cut to ribbons because Rodri didn’t play.

The aura that used to surround Pep and his side has faded like the legs of last season’s bloated and overage squad.

Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker were among those replaced, with Guardiola’s latest rebuild featuring the likes of Rayan Cherki, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Aït-Nouri.

James Trafford adds terrific depth between the sticks on the back of an impressive campaign for Burnley and could yet start if Ederson departs.

But the best news of all is that Rodri is fully fit and ready to anchor the midfield.

There may be talent everywhere, but it still feels like a squad in transition.

Erling Haaland scored 31 last season despite a noticeable dip in performances, while Phil Foden still has all the ability to conquer the world.

One thing that is preventing us from backing City is the fact that players perform at their peak from their second season under Guardiola onwards.

You can’t rule them out, but they’re still vulnerable and not worth betting on.

Are Chelsea a good outside bet for the Premier League title?

Chelsea are fourth favourites at +900 (9/1). They’re not expected to win the Premier League, but you can argue they’re a good outside bet if things fall their way.

Enzo Maresca has enjoyed a full pre-season to stamp his complex style on the squad. They ended last season with a top-four finish, a Conference League trophy, and a Club World Cup.

The results speak for themselves, and adding the likes of Delap and Pedro brings serious firepower.

Jamie Gittens and Estêvão Willian offer some additional flair, while Cole Palmer can rediscover his best as the creative heart of the team.

It looks to us as if there’s less pressure on the England international, who suffered a dip in form in 2025. As long as he’s fit, the Blues are a threat.

Our main concern is consistency. They won just two of their final seven league games last season and struggled to break through compact defences.

There’s enough talent here to mount a reasonable challenge, especially with a kind fixture run to start.

If Gyökeres flops, Liverpool’s new attack takes time to gel, and City’s rebuild stalls, there’s a chance.

But Maresca’s men still need to prove they can handle the pressure week after week, so they’re still a dark blue horse in a red title race.

Suggested bet: Chelsea (each-way) to win the Premier League in 2025/26
