Which team is going to win the English Premier League 2025/26? And who will be relegated?

The 2025/26 English Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 15 when defending champions Liverpool welcome Bournemouth to Anfield for an 8pm (UK time) kick-off.

Arne Slot’s Reds romped to title glory last season, finishing 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal and 13 points ahead of Pep Guardiola’s defending champions Manchester City.

The men from Merseyside have been busy in the transfer market this summer but look increasingly likely to bolster their attack with the addition of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak before the summer transfer window slams shut.

Leeds United, Burnley, and Sunderland are the new kids on the block after winning promotion from the English Championship last season, with Southampton, Ipswich Town, and Leicester City making way for them by dropping into England’s second tier.

Here, Sports News Blitz’s Simon J Wilkes takes a look at who bookmakers SkyBet have priced up for title glory and relegation in the forthcoming season.

English Premier League winner 2025/26

Odds (Each way: 1/3 odds, two places)

Liverpool 13/8

Arsenal 2/1

Manchester City 3/1

Chelsea 17/2

Newcastle 28/1

Manchester Utd 33/1

Tottenham 40/1

Aston Villa 50/1

Analysis

Liverpool offer little value with their favourites’ price of 13/8, and the 2/1 on Arsenal holds little appeal either despite Mikel Arteta strengthening his squad considerably so far this summer.

Manchester City have to be considered at 3/1. They might be missing the silky skills of departed playmaker Kevin De Bruyne but are boosted by the return to fitness of Rodri.

The influential Spain midfielder is arguably their most important player, not just for his physical presence in midfield but for his ability to thread direct passes to goal machine Erling Haaland.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea might be worth an each-way bet too as they have finally got a physical number nine in the shape of Liam Delap, who João Pedro and Cole Palmer will buzz around in order to create all sorts of chances. That trio will be a handful for any EPL defence.

Suggested bets: Manchester City to win the 2025/26 EPL title at 3/1, Chelsea (each way) to win the 2025/26 EPL title at 17/2

Which teams are going to be relegated from the English Premier League 2025/26?

Odds

Burnley 2/7

Sunderland 4/11

Leeds 10/11

Wolves 10/3

Brentford 10/3

West Ham 11/2

Crystal Palace 7/1

Fulham 7/1

Everton 7/1

Bournemouth 17/2

Nottingham Forest 17/2

Brighton 14/1

Analysis

Burney may have finished second to Leeds in the 2024/25 Championship table despite matching the mighty Whites’ century of points, but the Clarets lead the market for dropping back down into the second tier, with Scott Parker’s Lancashire lads priced at 2/7 and set for a tough season back in the top flight.

Sunderland secured their return to the top tier with a Championship play-off final win over Sheffield United at Wembley but are also tipped for a short-term Premier League stay.

Daniel Farke’s Leeds outfit could be the one team who makes the grade and are priced accordingly at 10/11, with bookmakers knowing Elland Road will be a wall of noise for visiting teams in the coming campaign.

Wolves have lost the services of talismanic playmaker Matheus Cunha, who has joined Manchester United, and the Molineux men are priced at 10/3 and could have a long season.

Also priced at 10/3 are Brentford, who finished 10th last season but have lost the services of several star players and, more importantly, manager Thomas Frank, who has taken the reins at Tottenham, with Keith Andrews replacing him in the Bees hot-seat.

Andrews is unproven in the top flight, and with Leeds having some serious financial muscle behind them, it’s not hard to see Brentford getting dragged into a survival battle.

Suggested bet: Burnley, Sunderland and Brentford to be relegated at 6.6/1
