Premier League Darts news: Play-offs 2026 preview and betting tips

After 16 weeks of thrilling action, the Premier League Darts season is about to reach its dramatic conclusion as the top four players take on the play-offs at the O2.

Here, Sports News Blitz writer Charlie Fawcett previews one of the standout evenings on the darting calendar.

Play-offs preview

At long last, one of the biggest prizes in the sport of darts is going to be handed out – the play-offs have finally arrived in the Premier League.

Luke Littler, Jonny Clayton, Luke Humphries, and Gerwyn Price arrive in London with an opportunity to pick up one of the most difficult majors to win in the sport, with a packed-out O2 Arena ready to roar them on.

As for the fixtures on the night, reigning champ Humphries will take on the outsider of the quartet in Clayton in a match that feels a little bit like a coin-flip coming into it.

Humphries reached the final four by the skin of his teeth, and for a while it looked as though the world number two would miss out.

However, Cool Hand will be at the O2 looking to see off Clayton on the way to the final.

The Ferret, in contrast, has been dominant for a lot of the tournament.

Indeed, he truly made the Premier League stage his own this year, leading the way at the top of the table for long stretches of this season.

Overall, it’s definitely a tough fixture to call, with two outstanding pros facing off – but gun to my head, I think I would side with the Welshman on the night.

As for the other side of the draw, the world number one is back in action as he takes on Price in the second semi-final.

Littler comes into the evening as odds-on favourite to get the job done and pick up his second PL title, although Price will have something to say about those claims.

The latter has a record that rivals pretty much everyone against Littler, making this tie feel like a banana skin.

However, it is worth noting that at this stage last year, Littler took on Price in the play-off semi final and saw him off 10-7.

Betting tips

Luke Littler vs Gerwyn Price

As for the betting side of things, I think it’s a very tricky evening to call.

If I was to point out where value can be found, though, I think Price to hit the most 180s against Littler is definitely a good route in.

Price has been on top form with maximums in this year’s Premier League, while Littler found them hard to come by in his run to the semi-finals in Sheffield last week.

Therefore, while I don’t necessarily think he’ll win, I do think that Price will fire in the most 180s.

Most 180s – Gerwyn Price at 17/10

Jonny Clayton vs Luke Humphries

In Clayton vs Humphries, I think that Luke is priced far too short for a contest that will be much closer than many suspect.

At almost 2/1, I think that Clayton makes far more sense for result betting.

Furthermore, I expect the match to go the distance, with a 10-8/10-9 scoreline being very much on the cards.

Neither player will give up easily on the opportunity to pull off a huge result, but I think the Ferret will just edge it.

Match result – Jonny Clayton and over 16.5 legs at 5/1

Premier League Darts 2026 winner

Finally, for my outright pick, I still find myself very much in the Clayton camp.

I think, for most markets, he is massively overpriced, and even though Littler is probably the most likely winner, Clayton works out as my pick.

Combining value and results, Clayton is definitely who I would side with.

Outright win – Jonny Clayton at 10/1
