Premier League betting tips: Chelsea’s Cole Palmer to score against a hazy Liverpool side, and more
Before we get into the worldie tips, Sports News Blitz’s Bookie Basher would like a word on Jamie Vardy’s decision to leave Leicester.
The Vard-Meister General is known to knock three Red Bulls into him before a match, and his path from non-league sh*tmuncher to title-winning legend marks the end of a football fairytale that may never be repeated.
In 2011, a freedom of information request forced Leicester City Council to admit that they weren’t prepared for a Zombie invasion.
I have zero proof but reckon this is the real reason Vardy is f***ing off this summer.
But what a player he has been for the Foxes. Bravo indeed Jamie. The streets won’t forget.
Manchester City vs Wolves
Manchester City have won eight of their last nine Premier League home games against Wolves, but the Black Country outfit are in rare form themselves of late.
Indeed, Vítor Pereira's men have won their last six so this won’t be a cakewalk for Pep’s mob, who badly need three points as the race for a top-five finish hots up.
Neither side have been brilliant defensively this season - City shipping 1.3 goals a game on average in the PL and Wolves conceding 1.8 goals a game - so both teams to score at 5/6 is absolutely sound.
Could do with this going in as it has been a rough couple of weeks financially. So much so that I had to put all my dogging gear on eBay this week.
I have not had any actual bids yet, but 11 people are watching.
Suggested Bet: Both teams to score at 5/6 (betway)

Aston Villa vs Fulham
Aston Villa's season has lost a bit of momentum since that stunning win over Newcastle.
They have missed out on an FA Cup final trip but still have a sniff of finishing in the UEFA Champions League spots.
Late goals are jeopardising Villa’s hopes of a Champions League return. Indeed, only basement boys Southampton have conceded more goals after the 90th minute in the Premier League this season than Villa’s eight.
That said, I fancy Villa here.
Fulham have won just one of their last 20 away league games against Aston Villa. That’s a naught stat.
Unai Emery’s men won 3-1 in West London back in October and should be backed to take maximum points again in Saturday's early kick-off.
Suggested Bet: Aston Villa to win & under 4.5 goals at 6/5 (betway/skybet)
Arsenal vs Bournemouth
Will Arsenal even be a*sed on Saturday? Surely, surely it’s all about Paris next week?
They are odds against to beat Bournemouth at home and normally that would be getting tickled but I don’t like it under the circumstances.
PSG were decent the other night, but watching the game highlighted to me how important Thomas Partey is to how the Gunners play.
He provides stability to the midfield and allows big Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard more freedom.
Evanilson is available for the Cherries here after having a three-match ban overturned for his red card against Manchester United.
And with Arenal potentially having their minds elsewhere, I might have a little go on the Brazilian - who has scored nine goals in 27 games in the league this season - to score first.
Suggested Bet: Evanilson to score first at 8/1 (Betfair/Paddy Power)

Brighton vs Newcastle United
Brighton are mega erratic and beat Newcastle 1-0 on Tyneside earlier this season.
However, there is much to like about backing the Geordies here, who are within touching distance of Champions League qualification.
The Toon have some serious firepower and are averaging 1.9 goals a game in the league this season.
Still not convinced? Just visualise it, please.
The sun is shining. The birds are singing. The tea is brewing. The bacon butties are on. And you are steaming into Newcastle at 11/8.
Trust me, this sh*ts in.
Suggested Bet: Newcastle to win at 11/8 (Betfred/Coral)
Chelsea vs Liverpool
Crazy stat time. Chelsea are winless in their last 10 meetings with Liverpool in all competitions.
That’s horrendous reading if you are a Chelsea fan but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that the Reds have been on the p*ss since winning the league last Sunday.
Arne Slot appears to be a calm, approachable and intelligent individual but also has that look in his eye which suggests he is more than capable of belting out Come on Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners while 12 pints deep.
It’s job done for Liverpool. However, Chelsea need to push on and have picked up 17 points in their last eight Premier League matches (W5 D2 L1).
Cole Palmer is too good for this goal drought to continue much longer by the way.
This season, the England international has netted 14 times, but his last goal came in mid-January.
That’s absolutely f***ing nuts when you consider how good he was at the back end of 2024 and a glance at the calendar shows we are now in the month of May.
I guess the truth will set you free. And with this in mind, I am backing Palmer to score first here against a (hopefully hungover) Reds in West London.
Suggested Bet: Palmer to score first at 11/2 (skybet)
