All roads lead to Barcelona for the final showdown of the 2025 Premier Padel tour, with the world’s best players facing off for the title between December 11 and 14.
Inside the iconic Palau Sant Jordi, the top eight men’s and women’s pairs from the tour will come together to see who takes the number one spot in a season of intense competition, ever-changing storylines, and shifting partnerships.
Simply put, it is a must-watch event for padel fans.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Vanely Barumire takes you through what to expect.
Blockbuster action awaits in Barcelona
Premier Padel’s Barcelona Finals are shaping up to crown a drama-filled and action-packed season.
On the biggest stage, the top seeds will look to secure the championship while fending off talented lower-ranked pairs.
For the men, current leaders Augustín Tapia and Arturo Coello are hoping to seal their third consecutive championship.
However, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto will surely seek to flip the script.
In the women’s competition, all the attention is on Ariana Sánchez Fallada and Paula Josemaría Martín, who will want to end their partnership on a victorious note.
To do so, they have to get through the in-form Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi.
May the best man win
2025 has been the season of Tapia and Coello.
The duo have dominated the Majors (three titles in four events), P1 events (six titles), and P2 events (three trophies).
In many moments, they have looked unstoppable with seemingly unlimited resources and firepower.
Coello’s command of the net and powerful finishing beautifully complement Tapia’s ability to create magic from the back of the court.
Looking to finish the season with another title, the pair might just get their wish granted in Barcelona.
However, a few dips in form during the season hinted at potential cracks in the top seed partnership, which Galan and Chingotto will be looking to capitalise on inside the Palau Sant Jordi.
The current second seeds have won seven Premier Padel titles this year.
‘Chingalan’ is also the most well-rounded pair on the circuit and their success comes from their contrasting playing styles – Chingotto is precise while Galan is extremely versatile and aggressive.
Their differing yet complementary approaches may prove difficult for opponents, especially Momo González and Fran Guerrero, who they debut against.
Elsewhere, former world number one Juan Lebrón Chincoa and new partner Leandro Augsburger will look to make a statement when they face off with their respective former team-mates Franco Stupaczuk and Martín Di Nenno in the quarter-finals.
Built on power and personality, the pairing is offensively explosive but lacks control.
The combination has, however, already begun to pay off, with the two players reaching the semi-finals of all tournaments together.
Hopefully, they can build on that feat and cause their former team-mates a headache.

May the best woman win
Just as it is for the men, the top three seeds of the women’s tour will be the main characters in the final meeting of the season.
With three different champions in the last five tournaments, the women’s side is wide open.
Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi, the current world number ones, are the favourites to claim the final silverware of the season.
Having become the most dominant pair on the tour, Triay and Brea have won nine titles in 2025, which helped them overtake former top seeds Sánchez Fallada and Josemaría Martín.
Despite only teaming up at the beginning of the season, the pair’s playing styles have worked well together.
Bringing intelligence to the backcourt, Brea allows Triay to stay aggressive up front.
Keen to take back top spot in the final push of the season, Sánchez and Josemaría will be determined to make their last venture together a positive one.
The pair were at the top of women’s padel for three seasons and won six Premier Padel titles this year.
Padel will certainly be sad to see the breakup of one of the most successful women’s pairings.
With a partnership dating back to 2021, ‘Ari’ and ‘Paulita’ have a chemistry that is now second nature and can anticipate each other’s moves in a way that many other players envy.
Emotions will likely be running high in Barcelona, so the pair will need to remain sharp in order to reclaim their top position.
Another major contender for the trophy is third-seeded pair Bea González and Claudia Fernández Sánchez, one of the most exciting pairs in the draw.
They have won five titles this season and defeated top seeds Triay and Brea in four finals.
González’s athleticism and Fernández’s on-court maturity has already proven too much for the top seeds before and hopefully the pair can replicate that success in Barcelona.
All in all, the Barcelona Finals are set to be a poetic conclusion to the 2025 Premier Padel season.
