Kevin De Bruyne’s Manchester City career in stats

Kevin De Bruyne will leave Manchester City at the end of the 2024/25 season.

He’s still got one game left away at Fulham, but Tuesday night was his final appearance at the Etihad and he was given an emotional send-off.

He’s arguably one of the best players the Premier League has ever seen.

Sports News Blitz writer Annika Böttcher breaks down the numbers behind the Belgian's extraordinary time in Manchester.

Appearances

In the Premier League, De Bruyne has played 287 games for Manchester City and only missed out on starting 41 of them.

In the UEFA Champions League, he’s appeared 79 times and, except for ten games, was always in the starting eleven.

Whether it was a regular league match or a crucial European tie, he was almost always on the pitch, showing just how important he was to the team.

All in all, he played 421 games for City and for many years, he wasn’t just a player. He was the face of the club.

Goals

The Belgian was also a big part of City’s attack.

Over his time at Manchester City, he found the net 108 times in total. Sixteen of those came in the Champions League, while 72 were scored in the Premier League, enough to place him 68th on the competition’s all-time scoring list.

Beyond the league and Europe, De Bruyne also made his mark in domestic cups, scoring ten goals each in both the FA Cup and the League Cup.

Assists

This is probably the category where Kevin De Bruyne truly shines. Hardly anyone can deliver passes as precise and creative as the Belgian.

Over his time at Manchester City, he set up 177 goals in total - a number that shows just how important he was in creating chances.

Of those assists, 119 came in the Premier League, placing him second only to Ryan Giggs, who recorded 162 assists but also made significantly more appearances.

De Bruyne’s influence wasn’t limited to the league either. In the Champions League, he provided 28 assists.

He was just as effective in the domestic cup competitions, with 19 assists in the FA Cup and another 8 in the League Cup.

These numbers underline his ability to perform consistently across all competitions, proving time and again why he’s regarded as one of the best playmakers of his generation.

Trophies

Since moving from Wolfsburg to Manchester in 2015, De Bruyne has won a total of 16 titles with City.

He has been named Premier League Player of the Season twice and has lifted the league trophy six times, including four in a row from 2020 to 2024.

He also won the FA Cup twice and the League Cup five times, playing a key role in all of those successes.

But the biggest highlight of his time at the club will probably be the Champions League win in 2023. That was the season City won the treble and the Belgian was a big part of it.
