Premier League news: Nottingham Forest replace sacked Sean Dyche with new boss Vitor Pereira
Nottingham Forest have moved quickly to replace sacked manager Sean Dyche, with former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira taking the reins at the City Ground.
Dyche’s sacking follows Forest’s 0-0 draw with Wolves, ending his 114-day spell in charge.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis moved quickly to hold talks with Pereira on Thursday, having previously worked with the former Wolves boss.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Aidan Leo looks at why Forest sacked Dyche.
Story of Forest’s season
Prior to Dyche, Forest had already dismissed Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou, taking their managerial changes this season to three.
Forest are winless in three matches and sit three points above the relegation zone with 12 games remaining.
Marinakis was understood to be dissatisfied with the club’s lack of progress in the table and their bluntness in attack, according to Sky Sports.

Dyche on modern managerial instability
Speaking after the draw with Wolves, Dyche reflected on the modern game and the growing normality of managerial turnover.
He said: "People can demand change, and then it's always whether they change or not. I just work very hard. I care about this club. I've made that clear.
"If the owner wants to make a change, then that's up to him, and that's the way football is now, that's just the reality of it.
"But I'm not questioning the owner here. He's been absolutely fair with me from the beginning to the end, and I've been fair with him and told him the truth every step of the way.
"Owners are owners. They don't warm you up, it just comes, if that's the way it goes. I'm a realist. I understand the noise here has changed significantly since the last few games."
Why Pereira is Forest’s choice
Pereira’s prior relationship with Marinakis proved decisive. The pair previously worked together at Olympiacos, where they won a league and cup double in 2015.
Forest view this as a pivotal moment in their campaign, with Thursday’s Europa League knockout play-off first leg away to Fenerbahce looming on February 19.
The club are hoping a managerial change can help salvage their European ambitions after a turbulent season.
