Premier League betting tips: Goalscoring affair in Everton vs Chelsea, Bukayo Saka to score first, and more Gameweek 7 predictions
11/4 and 7/4 winners last week. Braaap, braaap.
So summer 2026 is over, eh? Big summer fan, me save for the days it’s too hot and humid to the point I just sit around on my phone all day.
I prefer autumn. Truth be told, it’s colder and often bleaker, so I can sit around on my phone all day, but on the couch eating Marmite cashews.
Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from this weekend’s Premier League TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including the huge clash between Leeds United and Manchester United on Sunday, October 18.
Everton vs Chelsea
Can I just say Everton at 23/10 here looks like one of the worst prices in the history of recorded bookmaking.
Chelsea, with João Pedro leading the line, are a match for anyone, and the Blues have now scored 15 goals in just six Premier League matches.
I backed Everton to beat Hull City last week, but they looked way off it defensively.
Ergo, I smell goals, people. The smell of multiple goals is wafting deep in my nostrils. Like an eggy fart. Chelsea to triumph in a high-scoring encounter.
Suggested bet: Chelsea to win & both teams to score at 14/5 (Hills)
Newcastle United vs Aston Villa
Johan Manzambi and Nicolas Jackson have found another gear for Aston Villa, who look a massive price at 2/1 to beat Newcastle.
Messrs Manzambi and Jackson were brilliant in the Champions League on Wednesday, and will be looking forward to this trip to the North East, especially as Matthias Jaissle's side shipped four against Coventry on Monday to leave them with the joint-worst defensive record in the Premier League.
I think Villa are worth a bet in Saturday’s late kick-off and have actually been nibbling some 14/1 during the international break that they finish in the top four this season.
The bookies seem to give zero respect for the clubs outside of the “Sky Six.”
Villa have been the fourth-best Premier League team pretty much without interruption since Unai Emery took over, so we should get a run for our money if they can navigate a successful path through seven games in 21 days this month.
Suggested bet: Aston Villa to win & over 2.5 goals at 100/30 (Hills / Sky Bet)

Leeds United vs Manchester United
The old rivalry still crackles with enough voltage to light up half of Yorkshire, even if the landscape around it has changed beyond recognition.
Leeds United against Manchester United should be intriguing this Sunday, with both teams having made contrasting starts to the season.
Leeds are flying, while Michael Carrick's side are winless in their last five matches across all competitions, and Carrick is under mounting pressure following a 2-0 Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid.
Defender Lisandro Martinez criticised the Man United owners in midweek for not strengthening the squad in the summer, and also weighed in on technical director Jason Wilcox.
Opinion is divided regarding whether Martinez was right to speak out, but after such a bold outburst he is going to have to step up to the plate himself on Sunday, or he will look a bit of a tit.
The Argentine is 16/1 to register a shot on target from outside the box at Elland Road, and quite frankly I like them apples.
The bet has already landed this season (against Manchester City when he was a 40/1 poke), and Martinez will surely be revved up for this after those midweek musings.
Suggested bet: Martinez Over 0.5 shot on Target from Outside the Box at 16/1 (bet365)
Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal
The trouble with football these days is that everybody wants data, metrics and tactical heat maps.
Sometimes you just have to forget about all that and nail your colours to the mast.
The Gunners should cruise to victory here against a Forest side that have lost their last two Premier League matches. The Tricky Trees looked all over the place defensively against Crystal Palace last weekend.
Bukayo Saka is 13/2 to score first. That’ll do. Saka was managing an Achilles injury throughout the World Cup in North America but looks back to his best now.
Trust him to score first at the City Ground and send the North London afición into raptures.
Suggested bet: Saka first goalscorer at 13/2 (bet365)
