NFL news: Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman on A.J. Brown’s future: ‘Nothing’s changed there’

The height of NFL free agency has come and gone, and A.J. Brown still finds himself as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Head coach Nick Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman are in a rut over how to approach the questions raised around Brown’s future with the franchise.

Here, Sports News Blitz writer Luca Salmasi takes a closer look at Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman’s comments on A.J. Brown and what this means for the Philadelphia Eagles moving forward.

A.J. Brown staying put

“Nothing’s changed there. A.J’s an Eagle.” Sirianni said at Monday’s Annual League meeting.

Roseman responded similarly: “ I understand that there’s interest in the A.J Brown story.”

“I unfortunately don’t have a home under a rock. But my answer to any question on A.J Brown is, ‘A.J Brown is a member of the Eagles.’

“From my perspective, anything you ask me about A.J Brown, I’ll go right back to that answer.

“But I understand the interest. I mean, I put on TV. And I see that there’s interest. But my answer is, ‘A.J. Brown is a member of the Philadelphia Eagles,’” Roseman continued.

Bright future for Eagles’ wide receivers

“A.J’s an Eagle.”

Sirianni continued: “Nothing’s changed since the last time we talked through everything. But you’re going through the process you go through each year.”

Sirianni also kept his cards close to his chest when asked about DeVonta Smith’s role in 2026.

“Both of those players, keep A.J. in it, both of those players are phenomenal players that have contributed to a lot of wins over the past four years here,” Sirianni said.

“DeVonta, A.J., I know I’ve said that a lot. It’s not like we have 1A,1B. We’ve got two 1s there.

“Obviously, DeVonta has had great seasons since he’s been here.

“He’s competitive. Great football player. We love everything about him.”

Excited about new talent

Marquise Brown and Elijah Moore became part of the Eagles this offseason, and Sirianni is excited to be working with them.

“It’s been fun watching those guys throughout their careers, seeing them not long ago come out in the draft,” he said.

“Always been a fan of those guys and their game and their style of play. Just adding depth.

“This game, there are so many ups and downs throughout the years, there’s bumps and bruises throughout the way, so you’re always looking at depth at the position and competition at every position.”
