NFL betting tips: The Eagles to hit a roadblock in Los Angeles; Chicago Bears to come in clutch

It’s hitting crunch time now, with just a few games to go until the postseason, and the league is going to heat up.

Last year's Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, have their NFC East top spot hanging in the balance -  a win against the Chargers this week could prove decisive in guaranteeing their postseason place.

Sports News Blitz’s Sam Condy went two for three last week and will be hoping for a similar level of consistency as he reveals his three picks for gameweek 14.

Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers

The Chicago Bears have been reminiscent of last season's Chiefs - they clearly aren’t as good as their record, yet somehow keep finding their way to the winners' circle.

Sometimes statistics don’t tell the full story, and that is clearly the case with this year's Chicago side.

Their QB Caleb Williams isn't a world beater by any means, but he doesn't make big mistakes, avoids sacks and looks for the smart play, which has resulted in a spectacular run of form and transformed the Bears into a real playoff threat.

I've got Chicago squeaking out another W in week 14.

Suggested bet: Chicago Bears @ 11/4 with Sky Bet

Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs

The Houston Texans have arguably the best defence in football. They take the top spot in opponent EPA, sit third in opponent success rate, second in defensive DVOA, and fourth in opponent yards per play (4.7).

The only thing that's been missing is some offensive prowess, and with CJ Stroud at quarterback, they seem to have gotten into a groove of late.

They are currently undefeated in their last four and showing little sign of slowing down.

The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t the same team they once were. The outfit has shown glimpses of greatness, but they are clouded by a sea of mediocrity.

While there’s no guarantee Houston will win this week, I don't see the Chiefs running up the scoreboard - I’m backing the Texans to cover.

Suggested bet: Houston Texans (+3.5) @ 4/6 with AK Bets

Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Chargers

Are the Eagles in trouble? They have now lost two in a row and are at risk of falling off their perch at the top of the NFC East.

The Chargers also can’t risk dropping any more games. Tuesday's fixture promises fireworks.

The Eagles' offence has been in a rut.

QB Jalen Hurts is averaging just 209.5 passing yards per game. Despite hardly throwing any interceptions, he has to get the ball moving if they are to rack up some much-needed victories.

The Eagles' offence looks in a state of disrepair, and until they can show signs that they are back on the straight and narrow, I will be hedging my bets against them.

Suggested bet: Los Angeles Chargers @ 27/20 with Bet 365
