NFL betting tips: Eagles soar against Commanders, Aaron Rodgers keeps Steelers’ play-off hopes alive

With just one week of the NFL regular season left to play, the frontrunners have already secured their play-off places while other outfits find themselves in a last-ditch scramble to reach the post-season party.

It’s all on the line in Pittsburgh where the Steelers contest an AFC North title race with the Baltimore Ravens.

Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Eagles will look to compete for the NFC number two seed when they host the eliminated Washington Commanders.

Here, Sports News Blitz writer Sam Condy breaks down his three favourite picks ahead of the action.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders

Are the Eagles back? I don’t think so, but they are certainly trending in the right direction.

They have now won three in a row, including a 29-18 triumph over the Commanders two weeks ago.

A win here would see them stay in the race for second seed honours in the NFC, so lots is riding on this weekend’s performance – and the Birds seem to have hit their stride at the perfect time.

Their defence is looking rock solid and while there are still some disjointed aspects to their offence, Philly has leaned into their running game, which has worked wonders over the last month.

I don’t see Philadelphia taking their foot off the gas in the final week of the regular season, not with so much still to play for, and as a result, I’m predicting a dominant victory over the Commanders on Sunday.

Suggested bet: Half Time/Full Time – Philadelphia Eagles/Philadelphia Eagles @ 27/20 with Bet365

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens

The Steelers missed a huge opportunity to clinch the AFC North last week, stumbling against the Cleveland Browns, while Baltimore kept the race alive by triumphing over the Green Bay Packers.

It thus comes down to Sunday, with the winner topping the division and the loser seeing themselves ejected from play-off contention.

The Ravens, though, will be worrying about the current state of star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

He has already stated that he will be playing, but with question marks surrounding his current fitness, he may well be a rung below his best, potentially costing the Ravens big.

On the other side of the coin, it may very well be Aaron Rodgers’ last season in the NFL, and I’ve got a feeling he could have one last magical run in him.

I’m envisioning a masterful performance from the veteran to carry the Steelers into the post-season.

Suggested bet: Passing Yards – Aaron Rodgers over 249.5 @ 12/5 with Betway

Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals

This is a tricky game to call, and I think it will all come down to what happens on Saturday.

Should the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks – which they likely will – then the Rams will be locked in as the number six seed, leaving little to play for on Sunday.

And despite being arguably the most complete team in football, they have suffered back-to-back losses and fallen slightly wayward at the season’s close.

As a result, I think we could be in for a far tighter game than many may expect at first glance.

The Cardinals are dreadful, but against a back-up Los Angeles side, they definitely have enough talent to cover the mammoth spread.

While they may not win, I think they can keep Los Angeles within touching distance.

Suggested bet: Arizona Cardinals (+8.5) @ 1/2 with Ladbrokes
