NFL betting tips: Are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers overrated, will the Philadelphia Eagles dominate the New York Giants, and more

We are hitting the halfway point of the 2025 NFL season, and the action is yet to slow down.

The Eagles managed to finally find themselves back in the winners' circle, managing to hold off the Minnesota Vikings, despite a third-quarter resurgence from the Purple People Eaters.

Elsewhere, the Detroit Lions stomped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers into submission. Tampa Bay will be hoping to bounce back from its suffocating performance in week seven.

Here, Sports News Blitz’s Sam Condy breaks down his favourite picks ahead of another week of NFL action.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New Orleans Saints

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may not be as good as their record suggests.

Despite an impressive 5-2 record, they scored just nine points in a deflating defeat to the Detroit Lions last week.

Bucs QB Baker Mayfield was right in amongst the MVP conversation heading into the matchup, but his odds have plummeted as he struggled to get out of second gear. Perhaps even more concerning is their shaky defensive stats, ranking 12th in DVOA and 17th on the defensive side.

The New Orleans Saints may be underdogs, but I think Tampa's confidence has taken a hit, so I'm leaning towards points with New Orleans.

Suggested bet: New Orleans Saints (+4.5) @4/5 with Paddy Power

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles should be an interesting matchup.

The Eagles are yet to win a game by more than a touchdown, and with the Giants coming in as heavy underdogs, the odds on backing New York to hold the Super Bowl champs close are enticing.

It will all come down to how Jalen Hurts performs on the day. He has proven he can pass when he needs to, and with the Giants already allowing 1,717 passing yards this season, if Hurts is feeling himself, the Giants could be in for a bitter surprise on Sunday.

However, it's been a shaky couple of weeks for Philly, and with the Giants also having a penchant for close games, I'm backing New York to hold it to seven points.

Dallas Cowboys vs Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have somehow managed to go undefeated through the last three weeks, despite being the worst team week in and week out.

It will be a tough test this week, though, as they are facing a Dallas Cowboys team who have been tearing sides open on the offensive front.

Ranking second in EPA per play, third in yards per play (6.1), and ninth in overall DVOA, the Dallas outfit is not exactly known for going easy on its opponents.

With the Broncos' documented offensive struggles, I’m hesitant to back Denver to keep up with the on-fire Dallas front foot.

As a result, I'm backing the Cowboys to end the Broncos' win streak, walking away with a destructive win on Sunday.

Suggested bet: Dallas Cowboys @ 6/4 with Sky Bet
