Horse racing news: £2 bet lands punter over £16k
One William Hill racing punter landed a stunning touch on Thursday’s racing, when their £1 each-way accumulator returned £16,245.
The winning run began when Miakoda (5/1) landed the 2:40pm at Brighton, followed by wins for Nightsinwhitesatin (11/4) and Ravishing Beauty (4/1) at Nottingham. Victory for Great Acclaim (7/2) and Beylerbeyi (4/1) at Chepstow, either side of Dangerman (2/1) at Sandown, completed the sensational six-fold.
While there was a 20p rule four on the first winning selection, the winning bet saw an uplift of £9,471 thanks to Best Odds Guaranteed.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Turning a £2 stake into over £16,000 is the stuff punters’ dreams are made of and we have to take our hat off after seeing this sensational six-fold come through.
“They certainly benefitted from Best Odds Guaranteed, particularly with Ravishing Beauty returning at 11/1 as opposed to 4/1 when the bet was struck. The fact we paid out at the bigger price on all selections, netted this punter a cool extra £9,471.”
