Golf betting tips: Wyndham Championship – Matt Fitzpatrick eyes FedEx Cup spot, Tom Kim on the up

The PGA Tour reaches its final regular-season event this week as action shifts to the Wyndham Championship.

And it’s officially crunch time as several players on the roster will be vying to break into the top 70 that advance to the potentially lucrative FedEx Cup play-offs.

Hosted at Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina, Wyndham is one of the easier courses on tour, with the winners historically shooting incredibly low.

Winning here means finding greens in regulation, so Tee to Green prowess is incredibly important, while tight fairways mean that driving accuracy also holds importance.

Here, Sports News Blitz’s Sam Condy breaks down four of his favourite picks ahead of the curtain closer.

Matt Fitzpatrick

The Englishman is on an astonishing run of form. Since the Travelers, he has gone T17-T8-T4-T4.

His newfound form seems to be a result of his increased ball-striking consistency in his Tee to Green play, an improvement that will help him immensely at Sedgefield’s long Par-70 layout.

Fitzpatrick is currently number 43 in the FedEx Cup rankings and will have his sights firmly set on breaking into the top 30 and heading to the Tour Championship.

With time running out, good performances are a must.

Ben Griffin

Griffin has enjoyed a memorable season, and after an unfortunate hiccup over the last few weeks, he will be glad to be returning to a course he knows well.

He has two top 10 finishes from three starts here, including a T7 last year, and with two wins this season, he has proven that good performances are not a fluke for the American.

Despite his clear quality and incredible 2025 form, the bookies have turned their nose up at Griffin due to his last two appearances, making him a steal when you consider his history at Sedgefield.

Joo-hyung (Tom) Kim

The former Wyndham Championship winner has been slowly starting to show some precision with his ball striking again.

When Kim is striking his irons well, he’s a force to be reckoned with, and with improved performances at both the Scottish Open and the 3M Open, he’s starting to look like the Tom Kim of old.

Kim shot a fantastic five-under 66 in the final round at the latter tournament, ranking third in approach and greens-in-regulation.

If he is to find his form, Sedgefield is one of the best places for him to do it, with the South Korean having stormed to a five-stroke win on his debut here in 2022.

Lucas Glover

Glover tasted victory here two years ago, and his current hot streak suggests he could be in for another impressive performance in 2025.

With three top 25 finishes in his last three starts – including 23rd at Royal Portrush – the American has proven that he can still hang with the very best despite heading towards the twilight of his career.

The former US Open winner has long struggled with the flatstick, but he has been statistically positive with the putter over the last few weeks, pointing to a potential resurgence for the ageing star.
