F1 news: Lando Norris hits back at critics after perfect Sao Paulo GP weekend
Lando Norris delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 Sao Paulo Grand Prix and did not shy away from addressing the criticism that has followed him this season.
Over the weekend at Interlagos, Norris claimed pole position, won the Sprint, and took victory in the main race to extend his lead in the Drivers’ Championship. With three rounds remaining, he now leads his team-mate Oscar Piastri by 24 points.
Norris responds to critics
When asked about his form and how he’s responded to the media and online chatter, Norris was refreshingly blunt.
“Just ignore everyone that talks c*** about you! Just focus on yourself,” he said.
"The team are doing an amazing job, giving me a great car. We're pushing hard every single weekend and I'm pushing hard away from the track. Rewarding - it doesn't come easy, that's for sure."

A new mindset
He revealed that in the past, he probably “cared too much” about how he was portrayed. “I care a lot about people’s perspectives and how I’m portrayed.
"I probably cared too much - even at the beginning of the year, I think I cared too much, and probably it was affecting me in not the best ways.
"But I'll always try and make my point and say what I believe in. That's one of the things I've learned the most: just to be true to yourself, have confidence in yourself, believe in yourself, and speak your mind. So, it's more just keeping my head down and concentrating on myself."
This isn’t just words. The performance in Brazil backed them up. He executed a clean, controlled weekend and put pressure on his rivals when it really mattered.
