Cole Palmer stars as Chelsea do the impossible and trump PSG as best team in the world
In dominant fashion, Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 to lift the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup trophy.
The UEFA Champions League holders were no match for Enzo Maresca’s squad, who stamped their authority early and never let go.
Having won the new format of the CWC, Chelsea can now say they’ve truly won it all.
From kick-off, Chelsea controlled the game, with Maresca even claiming that his side “won the game in the first 10 minutes.”
A big game player, and an impactful signing
All three goals came in the first half, with Chelsea’s attacking duo continuing to build a dangerous partnership.
Cole Palmer opened the scoring with a beautiful low finish in the 22nd minute and doubled his tally just eight minutes later. Once again, Palmer proved he is a player built for the big stage.
The Blues’ No.10 was unstoppable - and he wasn’t done yet.
Joao Pedro, Chelsea’s newest star, made it three just before the break. It was his third goal in three games, underlining a dream start to life in blue.
Palmer provided the assist, capping a complete performance.
“I like finals and it happened again,” Palmer told DAZN. He now has eight goal contributions in six career finals.

A special start for Maresca
Palmer’s performance earned him the tournament’s Golden Ball, and he had high praise for both his team-mates and his manager.
"Obviously it's a great feeling. Even better because obviously everyone doubted us before the game.
“He's [Maresca] building something special, something important.”
Maresca has now led Chelsea to two trophies in just his first season in charge - the UEFA Conference League and now the FIFA Club World Cup.
“Our future is very exciting,” the Chelsea boss said.
