Boxing news: Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn - Preview and prediction
Ryan Garcia will take on Conor Benn at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, where he will defend his WBC world welterweight title on Saturday, September 12.
Garcia’s last fight was on February 21, 2026, when he faced Mario Barrios, winning the WBC welterweight Championship by unanimous decision.
Benn, on the other hand, had his last fight against Regis Prograis on the Undercard of Tyson Fury vs Makhumdov. Benn won by unanimous decision in a ten-round fight on April 11, 2026.

The move stood for a major step for Benn, allowing him to compete on a new platform and continue building his reputation within the sport.
This came as a huge shock to many people, as Benn has been with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom his entire career.
Eddie Hearn went out in interviews and said he felt betrayed by the whole situation, but Benn said he had to do what was right for him and his family.
He had been after big-name fights against the likes of Ryan Garcia ever since his two huge fights with Chris Eubank JR.
This fight is perfect. A Brit vs an American, two huge names in the sport of boxing. It is a massive fight, and the build-up for it has been huge.
Benn has come out and said in interviews that signing with Zuffa Boxing has been the best thing he has ever done, and because of this deal with Zuffa, he now has got the Garcia fight, a fight he wanted for a long time.

Breakdown and prediction
Coming into this fight, both fighters are coming off wins. Benn is coming off a win over Regis Prograis, and Garcia is coming off a win over Mario Barrios.
Both fighters are coming off decision wins, however.
But when it comes to Benn, I was not impressed by his latest performance against Prograis. He was cut a lot in that fight, and his cardio didn’t look great at all.
For me, in this fight, he needs to make a lot of improvements.
Garcia, on the other hand, was much more impressive. His jab was great, his speed was great, and he was able to knock Barrios down exceedingly early.
In the first round, he had Barrios backed up against the ropes the whole fight.
I think Garcia will stop him in the 11th round, and that Benn will have some great moments early on and end up knocking him down in the fourth. But as the fight goes on, I just think Garcia’s speed and power will be too much for him.
