Premier League betting tips: Erling Haaland and Bruno Fernandes to score in Manchester Derby, Tottenham without a win, again, and more Gameweek 4 predictions
It tames tigers this gambling lark. It really does. Last Sunday I had a £60 bet on a Manchester United and Arsenal win and both teams to score, double-paying over £700, and was an injury-time Ainsley Maitland-Niles worldie away from collecting.

Tottenham vs Everton
Tottenham could do with a win in this fixture - known to nobody at all as ‘The Gary Lineker derby’ - after taking just one point from their first three Premier League games.
They have spent a fortune and have yet to score in the league.
The goalless draw at Nottingham Forest at least supplied defensive resistance, but Spurs failed to register a shot on target and the shortage of a recognised centre forward remains an awkward truth behind Roberto De Zerbi’s brave new world.
The betting question is whether Tottenham’s historical authority at home against Everton can outweigh the evidence of the present.
Spurs have won the last five league meetings between these clubs in North London, including a 1-0 victory in May, but the Toffees’ current shape makes them a dangerous opponent for a side whose attacking confidence is visibly brittle. I’m going Desmond.

Sunderland vs Arsenal
There is something faintly cruel about sending Arsenal fans to Sunderland at 8pm on a Saturday after a Champions League expedition to Naples on a Wednesday, particularly when the alternative is apparently to spend the afternoon doing something half sensible.
In polls, Sunderland has been rated amongst the worst places to visit in the UK, and in 2017 social media posts and tabloid papers falsely claimed during ‘Poo-Gate’ a drunk fan pulled his pants down and soiled a seat.
The Black Cats have made a reasonably encouraging start and have no major injury or suspension concerns, but Arsenal possess the deeper squad depth.
It was only 1-0 to the Arsenal in Italy, but they dominated Napoli in the opening game of their Champions League campaign, and a punt on them to win this without shipping looks the way to bet.

Coventry City vs Brighton
Newly promoted Coventry City have yet to pick up a point but have shown they might be able to compete at this level after some industrious displays in their first three matches.
Frank Lampard’s Sky Blues only lost 1-0 to Manchester City last time out, and that was at the Etihad.
Brighton have been full of goals, and I’m not going to overcomplicate this.
The Bookie Basher predictive algorithm reckons there's a 79% chance of two things happening this Sunday: Brighton beating Coventry and me upsetting the members of my dad’s social club again for poor behaviour while the bingo is on.

Manchester United vs Manchester City
The first Manchester derby of the season could be a classic.
The Cityzens are top of the pile but don’t have a great recent record in this fixture. Indeed, Man City have won just one of their last four Premier League games against the Red Devils (D1, L2).
Add to this the fact that Manchester United have won nine of their last 10 Premier League home games since Michael Carrick took charge in January, scoring at least twice in each fixture.
Carrick is a strange cat, no? He is 45, but his hair remains the same as it did 20 years ago. I am convinced his barnet will one day be studied at Harvard.
Reeks of goals this. The season is but a few weeks old, but Erling Haaland is doing Erling Haaland things (already into 4/7 to be Premier League top scorer with some firms).
Yet Bruno Fernandes has also sparkled, weighing in with three goals and an assist in what has been a fairly erratic start for the Red Devils.
