Wrestling news: Will Ospreay or Darby Allin – Who should challenge MJF at AEW’s All In London?
Will Ospreay and Darby Allin have emerged as the two strongest contenders for the AEW World Championship, but which star will secure a spot at All In London?
With 156 days to go, the question of who should face MJF at Wembley Stadium remains – assuming the latter retains his title against Kenny Omega at AEW’s upcoming PPV, Dynasty, on April 12th.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Mosaddek Abu takes a look at two superstars and gives his thoughts on who should be the number one contender in August.
The Aerial Assassin vs Salt of the Earth
This wouldn’t be the first time Will Ospreay and MJF have met at Wembley – All In 2024 saw the pair face off for the AEW American Championship.
Ospreay defeated MJF that night and went on to win back his title, so what’s the case for Ospreay now?
He’s fresh off a neck injury that kept him sidelined for months, made a fiery return at Revolution, and currently has momentum, which could lead to him landing the Owen Hart Cup at Double Or Nothing.
Ospreay has also been in chase mode ever since he arrived in AEW, making it his goal to be the world champion and coming close on one occasion in a losing effort to Swerve Strickland at Forbidden Door 2024.
The timing has never been better too.
It could make for a magical moment inside Wembley Stadium come August.

A daredevil underdog looking for first world title
An underdog story always works well in professional wrestling, and Darby Allin fits the bill.
Allin and MJF have only faced each other once, at Full Gear 2021, and the current AEW world champ was the winner.
It wasn’t clean, though, as he used the Dynamite Diamond Ring behind the referee’s back, and Allin is yet to avenge that.
He has competed for the title only three times, with his last chance, back in 2023, a fatal four-way match in which Salt of the Earth came out victorious.
And on the March 18th episode of Dynamite, after defeating Gabe Kidd in a coffin match, Allin made it known that he is coming after the world championship and MJF.
Since taking time off last year to climb Mount Everest, Allin has been battling the Death Riders and taking more heavy bumps, and he is certainly up for the chase of a world championship.

Verdict: Who should be the number one contender
The best possible match-up for AEW’s biggest show of the year is Darby Allin vs MJF.
It would be the second time they have faced each other one-on-one, and it’s a classic David vs Goliath story.
Allin is the underdog who has twice failed to win the world championship and is looking to avenge the defeat of five years ago.
On the other hand, MJF is a seasoned veteran with big experience in main-event championship matches.
Their showdown is akin to hero vs villain and would be a main event suited for the biggest stage.
The problem with Ospreay vs MJF is that it isn’t fresh, since we already saw it two years ago.
And if MJF loses, it’s for the sake of pleasing the London crowd – it wouldn’t come across as a genuine pay-off for a storyline that starts in May if the Aerial Assassin wins the Owen Hart Cup.
Allin and MJF have a far longer history given they are original talents of AEW, plus you have angles such as Allin chasing down MJF to beat him one-on-one and avenge his previous loss.
That rivalry could be built up throughout the summer before we get to All In, and it could carry over into the autumn in what is usually a difficult period for weekly wrestling television.
The biggest factor in this choice, though, is that it feels worthy of a stadium-based main event, and it is a match and moment that would feel organic rather than forced.
