Wimbledon betting tips: Cameron Norrie good enough to claim a set against Alcaraz at SW19
We’ve had the weather and the drama at this year’s Wimbledon, with tennis’ biggest names dropping at an unprecedented rate during a manic first week.
The event started like it does every year at SW19. Full house on Centre and idyllic conditions, with 64 seeds across the men’s and women’s singles draw.
However, by the time the third round began, just 14 women and 13 men remained (the fewest at a Slam since the 32-seed format was first used in 2001).
Sports News Blitz’s Bookie Basher’s headline pick Jannik Sinner is still going strong but there has been carnage elsewhere with big names such as Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev and home hope Jack Draper all exiting early.
It’s not a huge surprise. Grass is a unique surface and the depth on both tours has gotten stronger and stronger in the last 10 years.
Norrie faces the ultimate test
So what are the best bets for Tuesday’s quarter-finals?
The reward for Cameron Norrie winning a bruising five-set battle with Nicolas Jarry on Sunday is a date with defending champion and bookies' favourite Carlos Alcaraz.
Jarry boomed down 40 aces in a titanic battle and was furious at the end, squaring up to the Briton at the net to remonstrate about the amount of time he was taking between serves.
The good news for Norrie is that Alcaraz is less volatile than the towering Jarry. The bad news is he is probably the best player in the world right now.
Alcaraz leads their head-to-head 4-2. However, Norrie has won two of their last three encounters, including a clay final in Rio back in 2023.
Alcaraz has won some truly mesmerising points at this year’s Championships but has only won one of his four matches in straight sets.
His level has been a bit wayward at times. Therefore, 'Carlitos' to beat Norrie 3-1 in sets at 11/4 looks a play on Tuesday.

Tauson a live underdog against Swiatek
On Monday Clara Tauson looks like a live underdog in her match with Iga Swiatek.
The Pole has been pretty solid in 2025, but in truth, grass is probably her least favourite surface.
Tauson on the other hand is on a roll, beating Heather Watson and Anna Kalinskaya before a stunning win against 2022 champ Elena Rybakina over the weekend.
Tauson’s serve has been really destructive and at the time of writing she leads the women’s draw in terms of aces with 27 so far.
The pair have met twice before and Swiatek leads the head-to-head 2-0. However, Tauson - who has already equalled her best-ever Grand Slam result - will fancy her chances in Monday’s late game.
The Dane will need to serve big but if she can (she was not broken once by Rybakina) then it will put huge pressure on Swiatek, who can look a bit rushed at times on this lightning-quick surface.
Her forehand often doesn’t really work when the ball is low because her grip doesn’t allow her to get under it very well.
Tauson is a real talent, on a roll and 11/4 looks well worth a nibble.
Suggested Bet #1: Carlos Alcaraz to win 3-1 against Cameron Norrie at 11/4 (Boylesports)
Suggested Bet #2: Clara Tauson to beat Iga Swiatek at 11/4 (Skybet)
