Railway Stakes news: True Love moves to top of two-year-old filly ratings
True Love (110p) has jumped to the top of Timeform’s two-year-old filly ratings after her impressive victory in Railway Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday.
Her Timeform rating has improved 8 lb to 110p, which puts her just 1 lb behind Timeform’s top-rated two-year-old Gstaad (111p) and on the same rating as Charles Darwin, both of whom are also trained by Aidan O’Brien.
She was beaten three quarters of a length by Gstaad, the subsequent Coventry Stakes winner, on her second start, and she franked that form when recording her own Royal Ascot success in the Queen Mary.
She looks the part in the flesh and confirmed herself a smart filly when beating the boys in the Railway Stakes at the Curragh on Saturday, becoming the first filly to win the race in over 30 years. That was an even better and more dominant performance than she produced at Royal Ascot, travelling powerfully before quickening clear in the final furlong, having plenty in hand.
For some context, Bedtime Story was rated 116p after her nine and a half-length success in the Chesham Stakes last season, so while True Love is clearly promising and has more to offer, Ballydoyle have had fillies rated higher than her at this stage of the season in the past.
Andrew Asquith of Timeform said: “True Love was impressive on Saturday and is now Timeform’s top-rated two-year-old filly, with a rating of 110p. She looks ready for Group 1 company next and holds entries in the Phoenix Stakes and Moyglare Stakes as well as the Nunthorpe at York.
“With doubts over both Albert Einstein and Charles Darwin running again this season, she could well be pitched in against the boys once more at some point, where she would be very interesting from a ratings perspective once her sex allowance is taken into consideration.”
