Racing punter turns £40 into over £30k
One William Hill punter welcomed the weekend in with a huge horse racing win, as they landed separate winning treble and patent bets to the tune of over £30,000.
The customers’ patent and treble bets involved the same three runners, first the David Evans-trained Supreme King who kicked off proceedings, going in at 4/1 in dramatic fashion as he prevailed by a nose in the 1:05pm at Newcastle.
Attention turned to the 2:50pm at Newcastle, which concerned another David Evans runner in King’s Code, which would’ve been a far more comfortable watch as he streaked clear by over two lengths to win at 22/1.
It would’ve been a nervy couple of hours waiting for the 7:30pm at Newcastle, and the punter may have feared the worse as their final selection Ice Opera began to drift in the betting, but the Grace Harris-trained mare was the easiest watch of the lot, making all to win by over three lengths at 22/1 and land the full £30,500 return.
The significant drift on Ice Opera saw the punter’s winnings increased by nearly £13,000 thanks to Best Odds Guaranteed.

“Having struck the bet at odds of 12/1, Ice Opera drifted to 22/1 seeing the punter’s returns enhanced by close to £13k due to our Best Odds Guaranteed offer, culminating in a total return of £30,500.
