Darts betting tips: Premier League Darts Night 14 preview and betting tips

The Premier League of Darts is reaching the business end, with the race for the play-offs heating up.

This week, the eight arrowsmiths head to West Yorkshire to battle it out for the Night 14 title in Leeds. Sports News Blitz’s Charlie Fawcett previews all the action.

Preview

It’s crunch time in the Premier League, as world number two and Leeds United fan Luke Humphries heads into his adopted “home” night looking to pick up valuable points.

‘Cool Hand’ currently finds himself two points outside the play-off places, with three league-phase nights still to go.

A night in Yorkshire, where the majority of the crowd will be on his side, has seemingly come at the perfect time.

World Championship finalist Gian van Veen also finds himself outside the top four on the same points tally as Humphries. This could prove crucial, as if they both win their quarter-final matches, they will meet in the semi-finals.

To maintain his place in the top four, Michael van Gerwen will likely have to overcome an in-form Luke Littler on Thursday.

Littler, of course, comes into Night 14 off the back of two consecutive nightly wins, having also moved to the top of the table for the first time this campaign.

Tips

Starting with an outright pick, given the circumstances and the venue, it has to be Luke Humphries.

He is desperate for points, impressed last week, and champions tend to find a way when it matters most. For those reasons, he is the standout choice.

Night 14 outright winner: Luke Humphries (7/2)

For a quarter-final accumulator, the following selections stand out:

Gerwyn Price vs Jonny Clayton – Result: Price
Despite Clayton’s strong campaign, Price looks like the player who needs this result more to secure his place in the top four.

Luke Littler vs Michael van Gerwen – Most 180s: Littler
This match is difficult to call in terms of the result, but Littler has consistently delivered maximums in recent weeks, making this a strong pick.

Josh Rock vs Luke Humphries – Win match, most 180s, and highest checkout: Humphries
This could be a dominant display from Humphries as he continues his push towards the play-offs. Rock has struggled throughout the campaign, despite slight improvements recently.

Gian van Veen vs Stephen Bunting – Over 9.5 total legs
Many of Bunting’s matches have gone deep in recent weeks, with the Englishman often struggling to close out games. The trend suggests another long match is likely.

4-fold accumulator price: 19.87/1

One additional tip worth considering is a result double involving Luke Humphries and Gian van Veen. Both players need victories and face relatively favourable opponents.
