Premier League betting tips: Tottenham to beat Chelsea, Eli Kroupi to score at the Etihad, and more
Alright? Fireworks night soon, yeah?
As good as professional firework displays can be, nothing beats the sheer f***ing terror of being bundled back inside the house by your Dad because the Catherine Wheel fell and has now set next door’s fence alight.
Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from the Premier League's TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including a huge London derby between Tottenham and Chelsea.
Tottenham vs Chelsea
Spurs have won just one of their last 13 Premier League games against Chelsea - which is a honking stat - and yet I’m backing Thomas Frank’s men to claim a crucial three points on Saturday.
See when you get right down to it? What matters most with this gambling lark is how well you walk through the fire.
Tottenham need more firepower up front (at time of writing centre-back Micky van de Ven is their joint-top scorer) but they are hard to beat, and have been playing consistently well this season in the league (quite Un-Spursy for the most part).
The Blues are coming off that shock 2-1 loss to Sunderland last weekend and have lost three of their last five in the league.
They are also having huge problems in terms of ill-discipline and are racking up the red cards this season.
Chelsea can f**k right off frankly as that Sunderland reverse knocked me for a 9/1 Acca last Saturday. Come on you Spurs...
Suggested bet: Tottenham to win at 7/4 (Coral / Ladbrokes)
Liverpool vs Aston Villa
This will be some game.
Since the start of May, Liverpool have conceded 2+ goals in more Premier League games than any other side with nine, while they have conceded 14 goals in their nine league games this season.
After the midweek EFL Cup humbling to Palace this now reeks of a crisis for Arne Slot, with the Reds having lost six of their last seven matches in all competitions.
Liverpool have not lost five in a row in the league since 1953, when Frankie Laine and Hank Williams ruled the music charts, and we had the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Mad ting, cuzzy.
Bottom line: Villa’s price here at 4/1 needs attention.
Aston Villa have won four on the spin after that horror start. On recent form - particularly given everyone else’s inconsistency - Villa could easily be in the top three in a couple of weeks’ time.
Emery’s Villa are no joke, blending patient buildup from the back with explosive attacking transitions, making them a potential nightmare for under pressure Slot in Saturday’s evening game.
Let’s have it right. Slot’s head must be up his a*se. They sauntered to the league last season and then belted out five wins on the spin at the start of the 2025/26 season. And now there are heavy whispers that his job is on the line!
It could get worse this weekend for the bald Dutchman, and the Villa price screams value.
Suggested bet: Aston Villa to win at 4/1 (General)
West Ham vs Newcastle United
Since February, Sunderland have claimed three more Premier League points than West Ham. The big problem with that stat, if you are a Hammer, is that Sunderland have only been in the league since August.
The Toon have lost just one of their eight Premier League away games at the London Stadium against West Ham and are unbeaten in their last six visits. Talk about a happy hunting ground.
West Ham United have made their worst start to a Premier League season after nine matches and are set for fresh hell and heartache this weekend.
Suggested bet: Newcastle to win & Under 4.5 goals at evens (betway / Boylesports / Coral / Ladbrokes / skybet)

Manchester City vs Bournemouth
Manchester City have won all eight of their Premier League home games against Bournemouth, so it’s only right that Pep’s mob are favourites here. That said, don’t sleep on Bournemouth, who are riding high in second at the time of writing.
Iraola’s Bournemouth play a dynamic, aggressive, high-pressing style. And they don’t mind being patient and hitting teams on the counter. Out of possession monsters, as Ed Gein might describe them.
Eli Kroupi has scored four goals in his first 156 minutes of Premier League football, and Bournemouth’s fabled recruitment team might just have unearthed another gem.
The 19-year-old Frenchman looks ruthless in front of the old onion bag, and yet he’s 10/1 to score first against Man City.
Don’t think I don’t recognise an elite athlete when I see one either. Real recognises real, and you are reading the words of someone who came 24,471st in the 2015 Great North Run.
Suggested bet: Kroupi to score first at 10/1 (Boylesports)
