Premier League betting tips: Erling Haaland to score, West Ham to beat Chelsea, and more Gameweek 24 betting tips

14/5 winner last week (cheers Villa), but on a personal level, can everyone stop inventing new slang words so quickly?

I was asked by my nephew to “pattern up” last week and had no idea what he was talking about. Getting old is crazy. One wrong pillow angle these days and my neck is on the sick for a week.

Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from Matchweek 24’s Premier League TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including Sunday’s big one between Tottenham and Manchester City.

Chelsea vs West Ham United

West Ham beat Spurs 2-1 in their last Premier League London derby, and I am crazy enough to believe they have a shot here despite the fact that ze Hammers haven’t kept a clean sheet in any of their last 20 Premier League games.

Don’t get me wrong, Liam Rosenior has made a really positive start as Chelsea boss, but I'm still not sure about Chelsea at the moment (won only three of their last 11 Premier League games), and Nuno’s men are looking for a third straight win after beating Tottenham and Sunderland.

So feel free to row in with me with a bet on West Ham here at bigger than 5/1. Come on, do you have to live so relentlessly in the real world?

Suggested bet: West Ham to win at 21/4 (bet365)

Liverpool vs Newcastle United

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League games against Newcastle (W13 D5), a run stretching back more than a decade!

Few people picked them to lose to Bournemouth, but the Toon are just not scoring enough goals.

It is hard to fathom why a side with so much quality on paper have struggled to find the back of the net of late.

The Mags have failed to score in three of their last five matches, and while the Reds cannot be described as home bankers against anyone just now, I see a lot of upside in backing Liverpool to win a match that gives us less than four goals.

Newcastle will be emboldened by putting in a gutsy showing against the Champions League holders in midweek, but you cannot ignore their iffy away form in the league this term.

Suggested bet: Liverpool to win & under 3.5 goals at 15/8 (skybet)

Manchester United vs Fulham

So what are we saying? If Manchester United finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, interim boss Michael Carrick must be made permanent in the summer.

The Red Devils just look like a whole new bag of burritos under Carrick.

Carrick's strollers sauntered to the Emirates on Sunday and won by putting three brilliant goals past Arsenal - who were unbeaten and had only conceded six times at home all season.

That was just nine days after demolishing Arsenal's closest challengers - Manchester City - in the derby at Old Trafford.

He couldn’t have dreamed of a better start to life in the Old Trafford hot seat.

The only negative is that Patrick Dorgu - a player reborn under Carrick - will be out for four plus weeks due to injury, but to be fair, the Cottagers have been mega erratic away from home this season.

Fulham are a match for anyone when they click, however, so I am going to have a speculative play on the Red Devils winning this 2-1.

Suggested bet: Manchester United to win 2-1 at 8/1 (bet365)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester City

Are Spurs too good to go down? Their problems under Thomas Frank show zero sign of relenting, and they have won just twice in the league this season at home.

It’s a bit of a head scratcher, as in Europe they have looked a different animal.

The Cityzens remain firmly in the title picture despite a few wobbles after Christmas and are worthy favourites here in the betting.

Spurs have at least scored in their last seven outings in all competitions and can do so again, but Man City will get the job done here, and 2/1 about Man City & both teams to score looks fair.

People talking sh*t about Erling Haaland need to give their heads a wobble - 20 goals in 23 Premier League games this season.

Haaland’s basically the human version of a Swiss Army knife. Always ready and reliable, and a bet at 19/5 to score first in north London.

Suggested bet: Haaland to score first at 19/5 (UNIBET)
