Premier League betting tips: Bruno Fernandes to break assists record, a tense Tottenham vs Everton fixture, and more Gameweek 38 betting tips

I’ve turned £600 into £0 at York Races more times than Cristiano Ronaldo has had his eyebrows waxed.

And full disclosure - I lumped Cole Palmer anytime at 3/1 in Saturday’s FA Cup final. Shambles. But I think it was Marcus Aurelius who said, “Until death, all defeat is psychological.”

So, with this in mind, permission to be massively bullish about taking down some winners on the final Sunday of the Premier League season?

The title race has been run, but the final relegation place is still up for grabs, so read on for a breakdown of the best bets from the final round of Premier League games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including huge fixtures for Tottenham and West Ham.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes is currently tied with Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne for the most assists in a single Premier League season (20), and he’s a 9/4 poke to break the record this weekend.

He is the beating heart and the creative engine of this team. The easy smile and playful raccoon energy disguise the fact that this is a player desperate to win.

He collected the 2025/26 Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award recently (the first Red Devil to do so since Wayne Rooney in 2010) and will want to break the record this weekend.

When lesser men retreat into the shadows of a match, the Portuguese maestro demands the ball, desperate to bend the contest to his will. 9/4? Get on it. And get on is large.

Suggested bet: Bruno Fernandes over 0.5 assists at 9/4 (Betfred)

Crystal Palace vs Arsenal

Well, who knew? There is still a place in the modern game for rigid structure and old-school grit.

For the last few months, Arsenal perfected the art of just being good enough, and it has been good enough for them to be crowned Premier League champions after a wait of 22 long years.

The geezer drinking the Arsenal tears the other week has officially gone missing, hasn’t he?

Some of the Gunners were catching heat for being spotted outside the Emirates at 5am on Wednesday, May 20. Haters were calling it ‘unprofessional’, given they have this game on Sunday.

Having once sank 60+ units of alcohol during a Saturday bender in Leeds and then navigated an 8am - 4pm Sunday betting shift for the Sporting Life in 2005, trust me when I tell you Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber will be just fine to play this weekend.

They’ll beat Palace, and with the handbrake off, Eze could be the man to get with against his former club.

Suggested bet: Eberechi Eze to score first at 7/1 (General)

Manchester City vs Aston Villa

Strange times these for Man City.

After a decade of tactical perfection and 20 trophies delivered, it seems that Pep Guardiola is going to walk away. We think. Stuff has been leaked, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

It’s been handled terribly, to be fair.

The Cityzens have won 19 of their last 20 Premier League home games against Villa, who themselves ended a 30-year wait for a major trophy by lifting the Europa League title on Wednesday night.

I do know that Man City at 2/5 in the 1x2 market is criminally short. If this is to be the Catalans’ final game at the Etihad Stadium, my spider senses are telling me it could be one to remember.

A 3-3 draw is 50/1. Two things. Remember who told you. And do remember to thank him.

Suggested bet: Manchester City and Aston Villa to draw 3-3 at 50/1 (Quinnbet)

West Ham United vs Leeds United

Only Wolves (who, let’s face it, have been pony) have won fewer league games than Leeds United this season, so there’s hope yet for the Hammers.

Daniel Farke’s men are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games, a run that includes a 2-1 win at Manchester United and a 2-2 draw at Bournemouth.

It’s last-chance saloon stuff for West Ham, who have lost their way at a crucial time.

However, they will know a win here, and they could yet survive, and the old romantic in me is going to have a dart on them winning a game where both teams score.

Suggested bet: West Ham to win & both team to score at 12/5 (bet365 / Bet Victor / Hills)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton

After a lacklustre defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday, May 19, Spurs head honcho Robert de Zerbi said, “We have to stay alive. Sunday [May 24] against Everton is a big day for us.” No s**t, Sherlock.

Spurs essentially need just a point here due to their superior goal difference in comparison to West Ham, but the point is, they should have put this to bed already.

Too big to go down? Maybe. But life isn’t always fair. Some men drown while others die of thirst.

And while seven points dropped from winning positions in their last three games have ended Everton’s hopes of European qualification, I fancy the Toffees will be up for this.

Spurs have not won a Premier League home game since December 6.

It could be tasty - the sides’ last five meetings have featured three or more goals.

Both sides possess enough attacking verve, and enough defensive absent-mindedness to make over 2.5 goals appealing here.

And how “Spursy” would it be if this lot went down on the last day?

Suggested bet: Both teams to score & Over 2.5 goals at 11/10 (Betfred / sky bet)
