Premier League betting tips: Both Man City and Arsenal to win in tense Premier League title race, and more Gameweek 27 betting tips

It’s a precarious old business being a Premier League boss, so it is, with four permanent top-flight managers having now been dismissed since the start of the year.

The Sean Dyche decision is still spinning my nut, and I have a hunch it won’t end well for Nottingham Forest this season as a consequence.

I have huge sympathy for Dyche (and Thomas Frank, of course). Never nice to lose your job. Before I got into journalism, I worked as a rock-climbing instructor until my boss let me go. Hit rock bottom not long after that.

Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from this weekend’s Premier League TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting laureate - The Bookie Basher - including Sunday’s huge North London derby between Spurs and Arsenal.

West Ham vs Bournemouth

This should be a decent game between two teams who have found a bit of form of late.

The Hammers are still in the bottom three but are playing some good stuff and will take confidence from the fact that they are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, a run stretching back to 2019.

Indeed, each of the last five Premier League meetings between the Cherries and West Ham have been drawn, but I don’t hate the home win here at 11/8. After all, Bournemouth have only won two of their last 12 away matches.

West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen has recorded eight goals and three assists across 26 league appearances this season - all starts - and he could be their match-winner again in East London. Gertcha!

Suggested bet: West Ham to win at 11/8 (bet365)

Manchester City vs Newcastle United

Manchester City have won their last 16 Premier League home games against Newcastle (and their last six during that run without conceding a goal). As a result, they are red hot 4/9 favs to win with the camel coats here in the 1x2 market.

They will be busting to heap the pressure on leaders Arsenal, too, after their slip against Wolves on Wednesday.

Away from home, Newcastle have struggled this term. They have failed to win 15 of 20 games in all competitions, though in fairness looked red hot in dicing up poor Qarabag in midweek.

Talisman Bruno Guimaraes is also set to spend around two months on the sidelines as he nurses a ‘serious muscle injury’.

The Cityzens should stroll to victory here (Erling Haaland is 4/6 to score), and I'm tempted to have a speculative play on a 3-1 home win at 11/1 based on the fact that the Toon have scored in seven of their last eight away matches.

Suggested bet: Manchester City to win 3-1 at 11/1 (bet365)

Nottingham Forest v Liverpool

Did Nottingham Forest really batter Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield in November? Or did I just dream that after a heavy night on the English Cheddar?

New boss Vítor Pereira begins the task of turning the club’s season around this weekend, and it’s a tough gig first up against the champions of England.

The Tricky Trees are winless in their last three, and this won’t be easy against a Liverpool side whose form is improving (four wins in their last five matches in all competitions).

Hugo Ekitike has already become something of a cult hero on Merseyside, and I'm personally revved up to back the 9/2 that he scores first here (does chef's kiss).

Suggested bet: Ekitike to score first at 9/2 (bet365)

Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal

So...this Arsenal team then. Title winners or a shower of useless bottling b**tards?

We should know more after this weekend, but that collapse from 2-0 up against Wolves on Wednesday, February 18, has certainly put the cat among the pigeons.

Massive game this now. Absolutely huge.

Despite the fact that he is the sort of name that is bound to come up in an obscure pub quiz in 10 years’ time relating to his brief tenure at Spurs, I really like the sound of Igor Tudor in his interviews so far.

It’s probably nice for Spurs fans to have some positive energy around the place after the safety-first (and frankly disastrous) Thomas Frank era.

Having twice rescued Italian side Udinese from relegation, the 47-year-old has become a bit of a Sam Allardyce-type (without the pints of wine).

Positive energy alone will not get you over the line against Arsenal, though, and Spurs’ lengthy injury list makes this feel a bit like Mission Impossible.

Suggested bet: Arsenal to win & both teams to score at 5/2 (skybet)
