Premier League betting tips: Antoine Semenyo to impress in Man City Premier League debut, Anthony Gordon to score or assist, and more Gameweek 22 betting tips

Agony. Ecstasy. Chaos. Total and utter chaos. We’re roughly two weeks into 2026, and it’s all been happening.

Chelsea and Manchester United have parted ways with their head coaches, Wolves have won a football match, and the FA Cup holders have been knocked out of the Cup at the first hurdle by Macclesfield FC.

What a moment that was last weekend. What a f***ing sport this is.

Read on for a breakdown of the best bets from this weekend’s Premier League TV games from Sports News Blitz’s punting bon vivant - The Bookie Basher - including a big clash on Saturday between Manchester United and Manchester City.

Manchester United vs Manchester City

Defeat to Brighton in the FA Cup on Sunday marked another desolate milestone for Manchester United, who are now set to play just 40 matches this season, the fewest they will have played in a campaign in over a century.

Michael Carrick is the man in the Old Trafford hot seat for now. Carrick managed Middlesbrough from October 2022 to June 2025. Record: 136 games, 63 wins, 24 draws, 49 losses (46.32% win rate), averaging 1.57 points per game.

You probably don’t need Manchester City rolling into town when things are going so badly, but in truth, Pep Guardiola’s side are not firing on all cylinders themselves right now.

The hosts are around the 13/5 mark for the win here, but on recent form, you really need to give your ’ead a wobble if you are thinking about going in at that price.

City have been struggling for goals and will be hoping the arrival of Antoine Semenyo changes that. The early signs are good.

The two-footed Ghana international - who has scored in each of his two starts for his new club - looks a perfect fit and can start paying back some of his £64 million transfer fee by starring against Manchester United.

He is 19/5 to register an assist at Old Trafford and will fancy his chances against the Red Devils’ ramshackle backline.

Suggested bet: Semenyo over 0.5 assists at 19/5 (Ladbrokes)

Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal

Life is good if you are an Arenal fan right now. They won again on Wednesday, January 14, to take a giant step towards the EFL Cup final.

That game was Arsenal's 32nd of the season, and they have only lost twice, both away from home (to Liverpool and Aston Villa) in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest are bobbins at the City Ground and have lost six of their 10 Premier League home games this season.

And despite the fact that Arsenal have kept a clean sheet in each of their last three Premier League games against the Tricky Trees, I like the 13/5 here that they win a match where both teams find the net.

Suggested bet: Arsenal to win & both teams to score at 13/5 (bet365)

Wolves vs Newcastle United

Wolves are unbeaten in their last four matches. Can they pull off the Premier League’s greatest ever escape?

The old Opta supercomputer rated their chances of survival at just 0.6% in spite of their recent win over West Ham and draw at Everton.

The Mags have won six of their last eight Premier League games against Wolves (D2), including each of the last four in a row.

I can’t quite pull the trigger on the away win at 8/11, but do really like Anthony Gordon ‘to score or assist’ at evens.

Gordon is a real handful on his day, but that hair? He can’t be leaving the house like that and thinking he looks good. He looks like a Temu version of Erling Haaland!

Suggested bet: Gordon to score or assist at evens (Bet MGM)

Aston Villa vs Everton

Are Villa the best 7/10 shot odds-on punters will see this season?

Unai Emery's Aston Villa have now won 13 out of their last 15 games. The Villa are also unbeaten in all 13 of their Premier League games against the Toffees since their return to the division in 2019 (W9 D4).

Emery against David Moyes feels like a bit of a mismatch in 2026, and Everton have won just one of their last five.

Villa to win 2-0 is a flamboyant take I can get with. Let’s have it right. Everton have been sh**e since the 1980s. The days when your dad could lose his job, gain a few pounds on the couch and get a stint as a pro wrestling jobber.

Suggested bet: Aston Villa to win 2-0 at 15/2 (bet365)
