Padel heading to Cinderford as Bell Sports & Rugby Park serves up facility
Two-court indoor padel facility set to open in August, making padel accessible and affordable for the Forest of Dean community.
The world’s fastest growing sport, endorsed by multiple celebrities from David Beckham to Stormzy is heading to Cinderford in the heart of the Forest of Dean.
Construction work has begun this month with the facility due to complete and open in August. This padel club will be an inclusive club for all members of the local community.
The new club will offer two brand new padel courts built end to end, to the side of the rugby pitch including a canopy structure with retractable sliding walls to ensure the courts can beused throughout the year.
Padel is easy to play, fun and sociable and it is enjoying a surge of interest in the UK on the back of celebrity endorsements and demand for court availability.
The club will make the game accessible to all ages and abilities, offering both ‘pay to play’ packages as well as affordable membership.
Rob Beavis, Director of Bell Sports & Rugby club explains:
“We are excited to be building padel courts in our sports park.
“Bell Sports & Rugby Park is already home to clubs for rugby after having a brand new 3G pitch installed last year.
“The addition of padel courts complements the diverse sporting options available at the venue, bridging the gap between traditional and modern sports.
“With it’s blend of tennis and squash, padel tennis is a beginner friendly, family-oriented and highly social sport, the perfect blend for both athletes and recreational players.
“The club will offer pay and play for non-members as well as offering memberships.
“There will be various group sessions on offer for individuals of all abilities and all importantly ‘intro to padel’ sessions for the absolute beginners.”

Equipment hire including rackets and balls will be available in the club
Flexible booking will be available through the Playtomic booking app
