NFL news: Everyone is talking about John Harbaugh - but where will he coach next?

Black Monday came and went, there was a host of sackings - but only one name is being talked about throughout the NFL – John Harbaugh.

Black Monday in the NFL is the first Monday after the regular season ends, and it is traditionally when head coaches, GMs and leading staff members find out if they are out or not, writes Sports News Blitz’s NFL expert Graeme Bailey.

2026 did not disappoint and on, and around, Black Monday we saw six coaches sacked, as the New York Footballing Giants and the Tennessee Titans were already looking for their new head coaches after sacking Brian Daboll and Brian Callahan earlier in the season.

So this week we saw:

The Arizona Cardinals sack Jonathan Gannon

The Atlanta Falcons sack Raheem Morris

The Cleveland Browns sack Kevin Stefanski

The Las Vegas Raiders sack Pete Carroll

The Miami Dolphins sack Mike McDaniel

And most surprisingly the Baltimore Ravens axed John Harbaugh after 18 seasons.

We reported on Sports News Blitz last week that the loser of the crucial end-of-season AFC North clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens could go - and that is how it turned out.

Costly kick

But that looked like being the Steelers’ Mike Tomlin…only for the final kick of the game to be missed by the Ravens’ metronomic Tyler Loop and so it was Harbaugh who was shown the door.

And it is Harbaugh we are talking about.

His agents have confirmed this week that up to nine NFL sides have shown an interest, which means that two sides with current coaches, as well as the seven without, are keeping tabs on Harbaugh.

But where will he end up? He is actually considered in the betting for every club – but let’s go through them and see his odds for every vacancy.

The Browns

Could Harbaugh move across the AFC North in what would be a huge move?

Well maybe it’s not as silly as it sounds.

He is 8/1 to land in Cleveland – keep an eye on this one.

He grew up a Browns fan. His family are also from Ohio. Cleveland’s current DC Jim Schwartz is favourite at 10/3 alongside former Miami head coach Mike McDaniel.

The Cardinals

Miami chief Brian Flores and current Minnesota DC Brian Flores is favourite at 5/1 favourite. Harbaugh is 8/1 to take charge in Arizona - but it looks unlikely at this stage.

The Dolphins

Mike McDaniel leaving was a shock to many and Harbaugh is of real interest to ambitious Miami at 11/2 and is one of the favourites.

Amongst the other favourites are Green Bay DC Jeff Hafley and current Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver.

The Falcons

Atlanta are another side who will offer a big deal to Harbaugh, hence the 13/2. Favourites for the Mercedes Benz Stadium gig is Seattle Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak.

The Giants

Some big names are being linked with New York and this is one of the favoured landing spots for Harbaugh.

He is just 2/1 alongside former Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, who is expected to land at another club after leaving Cleveland.

The Raiders

Veteran Pete Carroll departed and co-owner Tom Brady is on the prowl. Harbaugh is much fancied to land in the desert at 9/2 and only Brian Flores is a shorter price at 2/1.

The Titans

Former Chicago Bears boss Matt Nagy is favourite to land in Tennessee. Of all the jobs, it seems the longest shot that we will see Harbaugh in Nashville next season and he is 33/1.

And the Ravens?

Well, Harbaugh won’t be returning. This is another option for Brian Flores, he is 11/2 but favourite at 7/5 is LA Chargers DC Jesse Minter.
