The Oklahoma City Thunder and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a commanding performance in Game 2 of the 2025 NBA Finals, defeating the Indiana Pacers 123-107 to even up the series at 1-1.
Victory marked a significant rebound after a narrow loss in the series opener, where Tyrese Haliburton’s last-second shot secured a dramatic and unexpected win for Indiana.
Here, Sports News Blitz writer Harrison Pearce reflects on all the drama from an action-packed second clash.
SGA leads the charge
MVP Gilgeous-Alexander spearheaded the Thunder’s offence with 34 points, five rebounds, and eight assists.
His efficient shooting included 11-of-21 from the field and an almost perfect 11-of-12 from the free-throw line.
Notably, SGA performed a ‘too small’ taunt after a key fadeaway jumper over Bennedict Mathurin, channeling the signature move of Steph Curry.

Defensive dominance
Oklahoma’s defence was a key factor in the victory, limiting the Pacers to under 110 points and preventing any visiting player from surpassing 20 points.
Haliburton led the Pacers with 17 points, while Myles Turner could only add 16 points and four rebounds.
In the end, despite seven Pacers scoring in double digits, the team struggled to find offensive rhythm against the Thunder’s defensive schemes.
