Leeds United news: Five players that need to be signed by Leeds this summer
Leeds United are looking to stay in the Premier League and build the club to be an established top-tier side.
Written by Sports News Blitz’s Elliot Ward, here are the transfers that could do the job for Leeds, from the least priority to the highest.
5. Kalvin Phillips
Kalvin Phillips would be a perfect fit for Leeds given his time already at the club which he was excellent for.
Phillips is a player who knows the club inside and out, being a supporter himself and could strengthen Leeds’ midfield.
His time with Leeds saw the club hit heights no fan would have expected.
Phillips was the focal point of Leeds achieving promotion to the Premier League and finishing ninth in their first season back in the topflight.
Phillips also won England’s Player of the Year award, following an impressive Euro 2020 campaign.
If Leeds could get Phillips back to his best, it would be a worthwhile investment for the club.
4. Manor Solomon
Manor Solomon is a winger currently on loan at Leeds United from Tottenham Hotspur.
His time at the club has been nothing short of impressive, registering 21 goal contributions and playing a huge part in Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League.
If Leeds want to stay up next season, Solomon would likely be a huge signing to come to Elland Road on a permanent basis. He could elevate the club in the coming years.
3. Gustavo Hamer
Gustavo Hamer is a forward thinking midfielder who plays in the attacking midfield role but could be played on either side of the wing for Sheffield United.
Hamer has been admired by Daniel Farke and the Leeds board for many years now and has been approached to sign for Leeds but has been considered ‘too expensive’ or ‘not for sale’.
Hamer has qualities no other Leeds United player.
Not only does Hamer have an outstanding rating in the championship he does in the Premier League too, but in the 2022/2023 campaign, the Brazilian born midfielder outdid Kevin De Bruyne in terms of chances created.
This is what Leeds are missing out on and if they can obtain his services it would be a huge coop for the club.

2. Liam Delap
Liam Delap is a striker who plays for recently relegated Ipswich Town, Delap scored 12 goals this season which is outstanding for a player playing for a relegated club.
Delap reportedly has a £30 million release clause in his contract. Therefore Leeds United should activate this as he would be a massive addition to the squad.
The 22-year-old would bring somewhat missing qualities like strength, pace and finishing to the Leeds attacking line.
1. Caoimhin Kelleher
Caomhin Kelleher is a goalkeeper from Liverpool.
Kelleher has shown quality when played in the cup competitions and in the Premier League when Alisson has not been available.
Many fans believe he should be Alisson’s replacement when he leaves, however, Liverpool have signed highly rated Georgian goalkeeper Georgi Mamardashvili who looks to be the replacement for Alisson.
Kelleher would be a fantastic acquisition for Leeds, and would be available for around £25 million.
Leeds are desperately crying out for a new No. 1 with Illan Meslier’s poor form this season, marking Kelleher as my main priority for the club.
The positions that do need prioritising are the goalkeeper, striker and midfield options.
Therefore, my list has been made on that basis, with players who would bring a lot of new quality should Leeds want to stay up in the Premier League.
