IPL betting tips: Best bets and predictions for week nine with play-offs on the line
The IPL 2026 play-off race is heading for a blockbuster finish as we enter the final group-stage week.
Only Royal Challengers Bengaluru have sealed qualification so far, with seven teams fighting for the remaining three play-off spots.
Here, Sports News Blitz’s cricket expert Himanshu Sharma breaks down the best bets, odds values, and key angles for week nine.
Chennai Super Kings vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai
Date and time: May 18 (Monday) at 7:30pm local time (3pm BST)
Chennai Super Kings head into another virtual knockout clash.
Two wins from their final two games could take CSK to 16 points.
CSK have kept themselves afloat despite injuries and a disastrous start to the campaign.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad are in a similar position and must win their remaining games.
SRH’s hopes once again rest on the explosive top order of Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen.
MA Chidambaram Stadium has traditionally favoured slower bowlers, but recent surfaces have produced better batting conditions, which could suit SRH’s aggressive approach.
Backed by batting firepower, Sunrisers Hyderabad are favourites at 1.75. Chennai Super Kings at 2.05 look the value side in a high-pressure home fixture.
SRH’s powerplay scoring rates remain amongst the best in the tournament, making over markets and top-batter bets worth monitoring.

Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants
Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Date and time: May 19 (Tuesday) at 7:30pm local time (3pm BST)
Rajasthan Royals are clinging to slim play-off hopes.
RR enter this fixture on a three-match losing streak, with pressure mounting at the worst possible time.
They need to win both of their remaining fixtures against teams already out of the race (LSG and MI).
On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants were the first to get eliminated.
LSG finally delivered the complete performance they had been searching for all season, though.
With play-off pressure off, LSG suddenly look dangerous as spoilers.
Rajasthan Royals are priced at 1.65, but Lucknow Super Giants at 2.20 feels like the sharper value play given RR’s recent slide.

Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians
Venue: Eden Gardens, Kolkata
Date and time: May 20 (Wednesday) at 7:30pm local time (3pm BST)
Kolkata Knight Riders’ hopes are hanging by a thread.
KKR are eighth on the points table, needing wins and a lot of luck to qualify.
In contrast, Mumbai Indians have crashed out of the tournament.
MI finally showed the intensity and intent in their last outing that had been missing for most of the campaign.
Their batting line-up still possesses enough firepower to exploit Eden Gardens’ batting-friendly conditions.
The market favours Mumbai Indians at 1.75, but KKR at 2.05 may appeal more to bettors chasing upside in a must-win scenario.
