Cricket betting tips: Best bets for England vs Pakistan and Caribbean Premier League

England face Pakistan in the second Test at Lord’s this week, while the Caribbean Premier League continues with Antigua and Barbuda Falcons taking on Barbados Tridents in Antigua.

Here, Sports News Blitz cricket betting expert Himanshu Sharma breaks down the best bets, value plays, and key betting angles ahead of this week’s action.

England vs Pakistan, second Test

Date and time: Thursday, August 27 at 11:00 am BST

Venue: Lord’s Cricket Ground, London

England head to Lord’s with plenty of confidence after a commanding win at Headingley.

Pakistan, meanwhile, need a significant response after a disappointing performance in the opener.

England are priced at 1.10, with Pakistan available at 6.25, making the hosts clear favourites with the bookmakers.

But rather than simply taking the short-priced home side, more attractive betting angles appear to lie in the conditions and individual player performances.

Lord’s has produced some difficult batting conditions in recent Tests, particularly when there has been grass and movement available for the seamers.

Pakistan’s batting remains the biggest concern heading into the second Test. They were dismissed for 171 and 135 at Headingley, with Abdullah Shafique’s 61 the only score of real substance in the first innings.

A return for Babar Azam should strengthen the line-up, but England’s seam attack remains capable of creating problems with the new ball.

If Lord’s produces another bowler-friendly surface, Pakistan could once again struggle to post a competitive total, putting even greater pressure on their inexperienced batting line-up.

The conditions could also favour bowlers who rely on accuracy, movement and the ability to consistently challenge the outside edge.

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons vs Barbados Tridents, Caribbean Premier League 2026

Date and time: Thursday, August 27 at 12:00 AM BST

Venue: Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua

In Caribbean Premier League match 16, third-placed Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, with three wins from six, take on fourth-placed Barbados Tridents, who have two victories.

The Falcons’ batting remains a concern, while Barbados arrive with several key batters in strong form and a bowling attack that has produced match-changing spells in their recent games.

Another factor to consider is that teams batting second have won all three matches played in Antigua so far.

Barbados head into the contest as the market favourites at 1.60, while Antigua and Barbuda are available at 2.30.
