Cadillac make statement with Super Bowl F1 livery reveal and early Bahrain testing

Cadillac have made a bold entrance into Formula 1 ahead of their debut season in 2026.

The American team revealed the first livery for their maiden F1 car in a high-profile advert during Super Bowl LX, using one of the biggest sporting events in the world to announce their arrival in the sport.

High-profile launch at Super Bowl

The livery reveal came during the New England Patriots vs Seattle Seahawks game as Cadillac used a prime advertising slot to show what their F1 challenger will look like.

The design is unlike any other on the grid, with a striking black-and-white split paint scheme that runs down the length of the car - black on one side and white on the other.

Cadillac chief executive Dan Towriss said the design “represents far more than a paint scheme; it represents who we are and what we bring to Formula 1.”

He added that every detail is intentional, calling the look “bold, modern, and unmistakably American” while also paying respect to the sport’s traditions.

Team principal Graeme Lowdon echoed that pride. He said it was important to take part in such a culturally significant event in a way that no F1 team has done before.

Cadillac will join the sport as the 11th team on the 2026 grid. They have signed experienced drivers Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas to lead the charge in its first season. Both return to F1 after time away from the sport, bringing a wealth of experience to the new project.

Extra track time ahead of testing

Cadillac made use of F1’s rules to gain extra mileage on the Bahrain track.

Perez and Bottas run the new livery on track during a filming day at the Bahrain International Circuit, ahead of the official pre-season testing that will begin on Wednesday, February 11, on the same circuit.

That outing took place just hours after the Super Bowl reveal and gave fans a first glimpse of the team’s colours in motion ahead of formal testing.

Filming days are limited under F1 regulations and are normally used for promotional material. But for a new entrant like Cadillac, they offer valuable early opportunities to gather data and familiarise the team with the car and circuit ahead of the official tests.

As pre-season testing gets underway in Bahrain, all eyes will be on how quickly Cadillac can translate early momentum into performance on the track.

Testing continues through February, with the season set to begin in Australia on March 6.
